Can you damage the life of a battery by leaving it on the charger too long. I've been putting a battery on the charger in the morning and taking it off when I get home in the afternoon. It's supposed to only take 2-3 hours to re-charge.

Well, I've left batteries on the charger overnight with no ill effect to the battery. Most chargers auto shut down when the battery is full (when the light on the charger turns to a dim green). They seem to just trickle charge at that point.
But do like me and get a USB passthrough. Never have to worry about batteries again!
