Did anything out of the ordinary happen to it? I had a clearo with a short in it once. Screwed it on, three short blinks, then nothing. Unscrewed it and rescrewed it, and the same thing.. Stupidly, I kept repeating the process trying to get it to work. Finally, it (the clearo) started sizzling and wouldn't stop, so I unscrewed it. The battery never worked again after that.
As an alternate explanation, I had another battery that only held a charge about 5 minutes. I scratched a lot of the paint off the side to mark it as not dependable, and found out later that it had caked on juice on the threads, so wasn't charging properly. It still works, but boy, is it ugly.
