Battery drained pretty low yesterday

yesterday when i put my sony vtc5 on the charger it read 2.4 volts.. I know your not supposed to go below 2.7 volts.. Can i still use this battery or should i just trash it? thanks guys..

i had a efest 18350 go that low the other day, seems fine, but i heard it may shorten life of the cell
