Battery help please!

Been vaping for a few weeks now and have been scanning the forums almost daily without creating an account until now. I ordered some panny ncr18650b for my new SiD and they were too wide to squeeze in. They were protected circuit batteries. I found out they fit if I removed the outer shrink wrap layer and the protective circuit with the wire leading from + to - terminals to complete the circuit. I tried searching if this is safe online with no luck except I found that the laser pointer world does this quite often to removed the overdraw safety feature. Since my SiD already has protective features will this be okay? There is still 1 layer of shrink wrap label on the battery. So I'm assuming I simply changed it from a protected Li-Ion battery to a non-protected Li-Ion battery just like an AW or Efest. Any knowledge would be highly appreciated thank you very much and vape on.

You've just ruined those batteries. Do not under any circumstances put those batteries in your mod. Never mutilate a battery in any way.

Your assumptions about batteries are way off. IC circuits are placed in batteries for a reason. The battery is generally not safe to use without those protection circuits, and when you remove them you place yourself and others in danger of fire or explosion. AW and Efest batteries are IMR, or safe chemistry batteries. Because they are a different chemistry they do not require IC protective circuits. Also, there's a huge difference between a low-drain laser pointer and a high-drain regulated mod; not a great comparison on your part.

FYI: Those Panasonic NCR18650B 3400mAh batteries are not a great choice for any mod due to their high resistance, low amp limit, and not being a high drain battery. These were meant to be used in low drain appliances like flashlights.

For a list of safe-chemistry, high-drain batteries for your regulated mod, look in this blog:
