Battery Help

Ok quick question someone might be able to answer my setup is a bolt using cheap old xsl 18650 batteries with a vivi nova tank at 1.8 ohms been vaping on this for a long time so i know im good there. The question is i just bought this-> IMR High Drain HYBRID CGR18650CH 3.7V 2250mAh Battery made by Panasonic as i am gonna need high drains for a new mod im gonna get. I just thought i could also use it in the bolt till i get it as i wouldnt even being putting a load on the bat with my current setup. But it almost went thermo on me as soon as i pushed the button and melted the hot spring. SO woundering if high drain cant be used in a reg mod? Anyone got the answer plz

I know provari takes imr high drains only. Not sure about other mods.

Hi Jt. Yes you should have zero issues with that battery in your mod. I use imr 18490 in pairs in my mod and have tested it down to .75Ω@4.8v to the point where my regulator just went into hiccup mode pulse-stop-pilse stop. So I see no real way you could have overloaded that large of a cell with just a 1.8Ω head. Check all your innards to insure nothing else is at fault. It seems that maybe you had a contact in there somwhere other than through the atomizer..... Good Luck.

lol yeah im pretty sure its not the mod as i just had been vaping on it and threw the new bat in as soon as it was charged. I do seem to remeber grimmgreen doing a review of the vivi nova saying he burnt some springs with the vivi but now i have been using this vivi evry day for a while with no issues that why i assumed maybe the bat was the cause. gonna try a cart or something else now that ive heard that the battery shouldnt be the dirrect cause and see if the vivi just dont like the battery lol ty for imput to
