Depends on your mod as well, I have some 3400 mah Efest protected 18650 batteries that don't fit in some of my mods because of the increased size due to the pcb and side wire, not only the length is a problem but the diameter is slightly bigger causing problems with some mods, I try to stick to name brand batteries AW IMR, Samsung for the evic. Batteries can pack a lot of power in the bigger sizes so I will stick to the big names in term of safety/quality control

I also asked the question in another forum and this was one of the responses I got. Any validity to it?

the reason i suggest mkne batteries is because of their very high amp limit. lets talk ohms law for a minute when you lower the resistance of a circuit and keep the voltage going into that circuit the same the amperage flowing through the circuit will increase. if you push a battery to far beyond its amperage limit for too long you run a good chance of having a battery go into thermal runaway which is the process in which the very thin membrane inside the battery that separates the two sides of the battery (also called the electrolyte) breaks down causing a reaction inside the battery and thus causing it to violently vent its gasses. the MKNE batteries have a 20A continuous discharge rate with a burst rate of 60A. The IMR Battery has a discharge rate depending on the manufacture and size of anywhere between 5A and 10A. Just for reference if your running a .8 ohm coil at 4.2 volts your somewhere around 5.25A of current.

I not the expert here and there's nothing to disagree with there. I personally am not interested in sub ohm coils, but I was reading, by chance somewhere here on ECF, about the Panasonic that you mentioned. I know it was NCR, and it was also said to have a high rating.
