We all know how how close the VK is to perfectly simulating the smoking experience. This is probably unrealistic, but one thing I'd like to see.

I use manual batteries on my 510 and, of course, the Silver Bullet. On my VK though, I like the auto battery. This allows me to hold and vape it just like an analog.

The one part that's missing (besides the lighter ;) ) is when to stop after 1 cigarette's worth. With an analog it's obvious, but with an e-cig I have to guess.

I'd like to have a button that would reset a counter inside the battery. After, say 20 drags, it would shut off the battery to let me know that is the stop point. If it's one of those times when I would've smoked 2 analogs, I can press the button again and get 20 more drags.

Of course, the battery still needs to fit in the PCC, even with the added electronics.

As I said, it's probably unrealistic, but that's how all ideas are born.

It might be ok for you and some others, but it would not work for most people because most people do not vape like they used to smoke. Generally I vape when I feel a craving for nic then wait. The time between my craving varies a ton..it can be 5 minutes up to 15 minutes or longer. Lately I am finding I have a craving more for the flavors than the nic...lol.

Funny. When I first started vaping some 5 months ago, I posted something very similar to this. =)

And, it's not unrealistic. In fact, it's not much more than a simple chip (like the old ROM chips) awaiting instruction. Only the chip would need to be within the battery, like how a protected battery differs from a non-protected one -- just a wafer thin chip that barely changes the length. The user could then screw a (special) USB adapter onto the battery and plug into his/her PC where a program would recognize it and allow one access to the chip for personal instruction.

I took your idea a little further, Bob. I suggested that the user could extend or decrease the duration of usage. Like; three times an hour initially when one starts using a PV and have it wane from there.

But, you may find, as I did, there is a rub or two or three here.

First off, these are not cessation devices, nor do we want them to be categorized that way, at the moment. They are alternatives to analogs.

Second, we don't vape like we smoked. The schedules are altogether different for most of us. That 5 minute-ish *timed* break is no longer important after one is vaping for a few weeks. No longer do we light up just because the situation dictates that we *can* -- like leaving a building or what have you. Once the novelty wears off most of us vape when we feel the urge.

Third and lastly, I'm pretty much satisfied with a couple of solid hits instead of the 12 or so of an analog in a short burst. I *might* take the same number of hits within a given hour (I don't know for sure) as when I was smoking but they are spread out evenly.

It's just different, ya know?
