I got two pair of batteries for the holidays, one pair of efest 18350 800mah and one pair of MNKE 30/60 18650 (can't remember the mah 2100 maybe).
I have recharged these batteries in pairs in a nitecore i4 intillicharger maybe one time a week or less (no more than 10 times) so they are pretty fresh I would think.
This morning I grabbed my m16 and it didn't work. I took out the battery (one of the MNKE 18650) and put it in the i4 with its partner. I used slots 1 & 3 and found the battery in slot 1 not lit up or blinking nothing. I switched them same thing with slot 3. Tried again with slots 2 & 4 then 4 & 2 always the one battery ("b" I labeled it when I bought it) doesn't lite up the charger in any way.

The "a" 18650 and the 18350's charge normally. What could have happened to the one MNKE battery? Any ideas or input is welcome.

Good thread...thanks but I am leaning against the charger as it seems to be working with other batteries. I am not sure how to test a charger that varies its output by battery type. I tried to get my probes in while it was charging a battery and couldn't get a reading. Is there an easy way I can say that it gives me batteries charged to 4.18-4.24 according to my ohms/battery tester.

From what I recall in that thread, the guy with a Nitecore I4 that was killing off batteries found it had very high no-load voltage on the battery terminals - over 6 volts. With no load on the charger it shouldn't be showing a voltage like that at all.

To check your batteries just set your meter to the lowest DC volts range, pull the battery from the charger, and connect the appropriate leads to the battery and the end of a charge cycle, preferably as soon as you notice the charger indicates the charge cycle has terminated.
