Battery lights up.....doesn't work though.

I have 2 510 kits from 2 different companies. I charged 2 batteries. One 510 battery I charged with a different companies charger. Now the battery lights up. However, it doesn't heat up the atty. Did I kill the battery? I didn't think that a different brand of charger would make a differance. After all, they are both 510's.

try cleaning the battery contacts really well and the threads of your atties...take a paper towel and kinda roll a corner into a point and stuff it into the connector on the battery and twist it round a few times...

it sounds like you're just not getting a good battery to atty connection...if that doesnt work you can use something to slightly get under the edge of the center pin of the atty and sort of wiggle it up slightly...this might help the contact...

Thanks, I tried a different atty with the battery and it worked! Better contact, just like you said. And the atty that wasn't working works just fine with the other batteries. Thanks again for the help.

no problems...just always try and clean your contacts first..you'd be amazed how quickly those can gunk up..

I had the same thing happen, but after testing, I was able to determine the battery was defective. I've returned it to the vendor, who is sending out a pretested replacement. I have to say, I miss American quality control standards ( ca 1984 ).
