Battery not charging completely, and feels like I’m sucking air when using it.

For the past several days one of my standard manual batteries, received earlier this month, acts like it’s dying. :( Only takes about a half hour to charge, and it only lasts 30-40 minutes. And, when I try to vape, it feels like I’m sucking air and there’s not much vapor. Can’t be the cartos as they work normal on the other bats, but none work right on this one battery.

So far I’ve tried charging the bat on 3 different chargers, and 3 different times left it to charge over night thinking it perhaps it needed to reset or something. That failing I decided to follow SnowDragon’s video on how to raise the bat post; although I don’t twist the bats down hard when charging...just enough for the light on the end to blink. Bat still isn’t charging completely even though the chargers green light says the bat is charged. Does this sound like my bat dying? Anyone have any other ideas that I might try?

Thanks....

I kind of figured it might be dying , but I’m not sure that I will put a ticket in on it beings V4L was kind enough to send me 2 free bats with my first order...this one happens to be one of the pink ones. Not sure if V4L would take it back anyways because I decorated it (am assuming they’d want it back), so thought I’d just use it the best I can until it completely died; then see if I can get the decorations off of it without harming the finish.

Was just hoping there was another trick up someone’s sleeve that I could try to keep the bat going as long as possible. Figured if there was something else I could try, this would be the place to ask.

Well it wouldn't shock me if you said you have regular auto batts. Try this, when the battery has charged, unscrew it a little from the recharger until the charge light turns red, the screw it back in and see if it goes back into charge mode (indicator light turns red again) and note how long it takes to go green again.

Now one of two things are going to happen, the charge indicator light will stay green OR the battery will go back into charge mode for an hour or two. When it's done charging for the 2nd time back it out and screw in again. If it takes a charge, keep repeating this process.

If you keep repeating this process, generally on the 3rd go around when you go to screw the battery back in, the charge light will stay green. Your battery will last the standard amount of time, although you will always have to go through this process to recharge it from now on.

So if this turns out to be the problem it's a logic problem with the battery circuit board. Contact Customer Service and let them know you will need a replacement.

Please let us know what happens......you'll be able to tell quickly!

As for the post adjustment if you have the post high enough to where it makes contact with the Carto Post and there is still a "little gap" as I mention in the video, then the post is high enough. Generally if you are able to draw on a battery, but receiving very little vapor it's a connection issue.

However, this can also occur when a battery has little to no charge. I have had a similar issue with regular auto batteries a couple of months ago with charging.

I had a similar issue with one of the batteries that came with my starter kit. It behaved the same way after about a week's use. The support team sent me a new one immediately! Now the other original batt won't work at all (manual, I think the button is broken)... it charges, but won't "light". They are in the process of sending me yet another replacement.

The customer service from V4L is amazing.

& keyzygirl: Thanks for your replies. No, cleaning the battery was the one thing I didn’t try...hadn’t even gave it a thought because they all look so clean! However, after reading your suggestions, I found a video on how to clean the Vapor King, and went to work...if one can even call it work. :D Was *amazed* how much crud came out of those little teeny tiny holes
, so will be cleaning my other batteries now. Unfortunately, it didn’t help with the current battery situation...

SnowDragon: Thank you for taking the time to write all that out! I printed it off and set about to follow your instructions to a tee, but unfortunately once the bat was charged it would charge no further. In fact, the battery even holds less charge today, so have contacted V4L customer service and they are sending out a new one.

Also the new wall charger I ordered came in today and it’s faulty, so they are going to send a new one of those too. What a GREAT bunch of folks to do business with!

Thanks again for the informative and helpful reply! BTW, were you able to get the vid made that shows the inside of a burnt cardo? Did I miss it somehow? I think I found the carto that I burned up with the PT...can't even get a syringe between the batting and the side of the carto

, so that has to be the burnt one.

Duderino: Thank you for your reply. As you may have read by now, V4L is sending out a new battery. The bat was working wonderful and then just out of nowhere started acting up; weird how that happened. Well, now I can also confirm what you, and so many others have reported here on ECF...Vapor4Life’s CS *is* amazing! I’m definitely sticking with V4L as one can’t ask for better service than that...they really stand behind their products!

BTW, I see you are new to the ECF as well...so welcome from one newb to another. ;)

Hey Sandy! If you have no luck with the above suggestions....go ahead and open a ticket. We would not care about the decorations you have added. Not to worry!
Wader, when I read your post, I nearly cried...but happy tears mind you! :) Really did think that I would be so out of luck with V4L taking back a decorated battery, and was concerned that I would always be voiding a warranty because of wanting to personalize them. Christy/Kristie (Not sure how she spells her name...I should have asked) also reassured me that it wouldn’t be a problem, and is actually looking forward to seeing the battery! Unfortunately, the bat coming back is the first VK I decorated, so it didn’t turn out quite as well as the others...miscalculated the nail sticker layout...and had planned to re-do it later. Like I told Christy, it couldn’t have been one of my better designed ones that was defective! Isn’t that the way it usually goes though? lol

Anyways, thanks for the reply, and for putting me at ease. Am still *amazed* with the service you guys give. WOW.

No problem Sandy!

The primary reasons we like to get defective merchandise returned to us is so we can catalog and categorize failures and take the info back to the manufacturer for input into our quality control and product improvement processes. The personalizations you have added would not interfere with those purposes in the slightest!

I just apologize that you've had any problems at all!

8^)
