Battery problem (but different from the other one)

On my 901, I have a few batteries and one of them doesn't work properly. It charges and when I inhale, it DOES light up. But no vapor. If I switch it onto another atomizer, still no vapor. If I change the battery, I get vapor. So, it's obviously the battery, but I don't understand how it can light up then. It's brand new, too; I don't think I ever used this one yet, so it can't be filled with fluid or anything.

I've blown into it and still nothing.

I think the switch is working, because it lights up when I inhale, but why isn't it producing power to the atomizer? And, I don't see what connections (if this is the problem) people are talking about-- there's just the circular part, no wires that I see. There doesn't seem to be any corrosion and it looks identical to my other batteries.

I'm really not very technical when it comes to this kind of stuff, so I'd appreciate a very simplified explanation. thanks!

could be the battery and atomizer connection is not being met. the circular part IS the connection. someone posted here recently with a similar problem and was advised to gently pull the atomiser center contact out a little bit with a pair of needle nose pliers.

first i'd try cleaning all the contact points.
NOTE: if you try this on the battery you risk shorting the contacts. i'd only attempt it on the atomizer if i had no other option.
if it was me and it was new i wouldn't bother and just arrange for an exchange.

Okay. I think I'll try exchanging it. It seemed easier to just make it work if I could, but I guess an exchange would be better.

Thank you, CG!

yup , it's just bad QC.

The reason behind some batteries not working is the height of the center contact in relation to the thread length.

I've had brand new classic batteries ( RN4072) where the center contact is too low and doesnt make sufficicient contact with the ( RN4072) atomizer contact. You can draw on it and the LED lights up but because the circuit isnt made it doesn't play ball.

I even tried reducing the thread length on the battery to allow it to screw in further and make center pole contact but the atomizer just bottoms out on the battery before contact is made.

Suggest if you get a battery that works but doesn't work ( if you know what i mean) just return it for a replacement , it can't be rectified, and i don't think its a cross compatibilty problem, just general bad factory Q.C.

Candy is correct that the threading on this particular battery is not allowing it to connect with the atomizer and pulling up on the middle post may do the trick (use a tweezer to pull the middle post up or pry it up from the battery hole.

Alternatively, the battery may not be taking a charge. A discharged battery may very well still have enough of a charge to light the LED but not to power the coil in the atomizer. The LED uses ver little power, while the coil on the atomizer needs a full 1 amp draw. Battery issues like this are all to common and it is unfortunate that the quality control is, at best, random with many of our units. ------Sun

Being new, two week user, I have a question on batteries for the Classic Pen Style, RN 4072. I have 4 of these kits and a bunch of parts. I found two batteries that act funny, they on a small draw, <3 seconds sometimes gives the 10 flashing leds as though I have deeply or long time inhaled. So far I just ignore them and keep using them with no problems. Should this be OK? I'm also vaping like every 5-10 minutes maybe 2-4 times, is this too much?
Thanks,
TomC

Tom , If you can live with the battery cut -off then fine but it should be at least a 5 second cut off , if it isn't and your not happy just contact your supplier and ask for a replacement.

As for Vaping too much , well only you know if your body's had enough or not. Personally speaking My e-cig is stuck in my gob most of the day..it's all about self-regulation and how you feel.
