Battery Problems with first Mech Mod

Well for many reasons I got my first Mech mod. I was at one of my local Vape shops and looked over the clone section. I decided on the SS Nemesis. I had been researching for months and got everything that i thought i needed. For a tank I got a Kayfun 3.1 clone called the rocket, 28 g kanthal, single battery charger that plugs directly to wall, a bag of organic cotton balls, and a 18650 battery. Well i heard that for safety reasons you have to get good battery. I went with Trustfire 18650 2400 mah protected button top. After months of vaping on this setup I reallized something wasnt right or was missing. So I did some further research and decided to buy a 30 amp, 2100 mah flatop 18650. The Sony vtc4 was the pick and boy is it a winner. Well now the trustfire was the backup so i charged it up overnight. I wake up in the middle of the night everynight to take a pee so i thought I would take it off then. I forgot all about this battery charging till 10:30 am. It was on charger for 12 hours. I took it off let it sit for a couple hours. Tried to use it wouldnt work. Charged for an hour still no juice and light on charger wont come on.

The Questions I have are:

1. Batteries shot. Right?
2. Is charger ok?
3. Whats the longest i should leave them on charger?
4. Whats a good inexpensive charger to own? 2 battery

What charger are you using?
For your coil build do you have an ohm meter to check the build?
Ohm \ Volt meter to check battery voltage is also a requirement.
Don't EVER use a battery with the word "Fire" in it.

(disclaimer... my post above are only my opinion... if you wish to blow your face off, by all means feel free to do so.)

The charger has no brand name. It has a slider prong to adjust for different length !8*** batteries and a little led that yellow. It holds one battery and on back has two prongs to plug into wall. I use ohm meter on my MVP2 to check builds. Nothing to test voltage. Why would I want to blow my face off? Thats why I am asking for advice. Trustfires good for charger but not Batteries?

Choosing a protected Trustfire ICR battery was one of your worse decisions. These are bad batteries.

Battery Basics for Mods

Sony batteries are an excellent choice. However, http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/batteries-chargers/581174-how-identify-counterfeit-sony-batteries.html

The Questions I have are:

1. Batteries shot. Right?
2. Is charger ok?

1. Probably. I wouldn't worry about it, its a lousy battery and the wrong chemistry battery to be using anyway. Use only IMR or IMR/hybrid batteries like your Sony.

2. Any "generic" no-name charger is a lousy charger. Get a name brand charger like an Xtar or Nitecore. High quality batteries deserve a quality charger. You want the best performance from your mod right?

3. The charger should indicate when the battery is fully charged. Remove the batteries at that time. Trickle charges are only for your benefit, not the batteries. Trickle charging lessens a battery's overall life expectancy, so don't leave batteries on the charger longer than they need to be.

4. Xtar WP2 II or the Nitecore Intellicharger i2.

I never trusted battery with "fire" on its name lol.

To make it worse you got the wrong chemistry battery dude, protected icr is no longer recommended for use in a mod. You should buy an imr or hybrid batteries, good call on you for buying the Sony vtc5 batt it's a hybrid battery.

For the charger maybe you should buy a more decent charger like xtar or nitecore.

Nice call bro, why not an i4? It got 4 charging bay and just a couple bucks more than the i2
