Battery question RX200

I got 3 18650's today with an I4 charger. They've been on the charger for well over 1 hour and still only 1 blinking light. I checked the voltage on the batteries. They all say like 4.07 or so. Think there is a problem? Or is this just a slow charger?

I believe that charger supplies 375 mA to more than 2 batteries, so it will take some time to top off.

Mine take quite a few hours to charge. Just let them be and they will be fine

Umm, no 4.07 is almost full on them. My Samsungs finish at about 4.15V and quickly jump to 2nd bar because 3.2V cut off is far from "dead". It would go much faster if you just use center two bays though... does 750mAh with 2 center bays or 375mAh with 3-4 bays. Hopefully it'll only display 2 bars for a little before jumping to 3rd flashing.

Charger seems a bit messed up. I unplug it and plug it back in, now it's flashing 2 bars.

I just ment to see if it works faster. 2 then 1 at 750 is the same speed as 3 at once at 375. Battery is warm internally from charging so getting a 2nd bar would be normal if you didn't let them rest first. Usually come off the charger at 4.2V and drop to 4.15V after resting. So it's reading about 0.05V higher that's all.

I don't know if the i4 works the same way as the D4 but if it's like mine, then it seems it has two separate "channels": bays 1&4 share a channel, as do bays 2&3. Each channel will charge one battery at 750mA or two batteries at 375mA. So to break it down, it looks like this:

(I can also put the charger into "low current" mode where it will charge just one battery in a channel at 375mA, if desired. I don't know if yours has this feature or how you would know it's enabled, without the digital readout telling you so but check the manual, it might have something. I'd recommend using the feature if it's available, just so that all three batteries will charge as evenly as possible. Otherwise, make sure to "rotate" them so that a different one gets the 750mA charge each time, to sort of "spread out" the unevenness and get them all back on the same page, so to speak.)

Not sure, I4 says 1&2 and 3&4 are separate currents so 1&3, 1&4, 2&3 do 750mah CC. 1&2 are used by the same current so it alternates 750mah back and forth every second = 375mah. It's max output is 1.48V so it could do 1 750 and 2 375 but I doubt it does. Says 2 750 - 3-4 375. Must be because it don't have the better CPU chip to tell it. D4 is the opposite I just read also. 1&3 are separate from 2&4 like you said on the D4.

To me your charger seems fine as it takes many hours to charge three cells completely. Did your read the manual?

He said they were at 4.07V when he went to charge them. Shouldn't take hours to get to 4.2V from 4.07V. Hopefully get an update soon. If they ain't done yet it's trickle charging them (broken). Less then 1 bar at 4.07V can't be right unless the other two go WAY faster.

Do you own an I4 charger? Batteries that are not completely discharged will trickle charge to fully charge it is not a fast charger. I am going by personal experience with the charger and not what I read or saw in some video review.

Cool put a 4.07V battery in and let us know how many bars you get. Mines at 4.1V so I'll try in a few mins.

I use the exact same batteries too so probably be a better judge. Even at 3.2V it don't stay at 1 bar that long because 3.2V is far from actually being dead it's just dead on mods. The actual cut off of the battery is 2.5V.

Yeah, as I expected it should be on the 3rd bar. Mine was even lower, 4.05V when I put it on. It may be ok if 2nd and 3rd bars go much faster then the 1st one did. Something ain't right though, 4.07V is close to full. 2.5V-3.1V should be 1 bar, 3.1-3.7V 2 bars and 3.7-4.2V 3rd bar... something like that. Maybe it's reading 2.5-4.1V 1 bar, 4.1-4.15v 2 bars, 4.15-4.2V 3 bars lol?

I am assuming you checked the voltage on the rx? Is it possible that your rx isn't reading an accurate charge?

That's a good question, hope not. If it says they are almost full when they are actually almost dead that can't be good.

Yep Nitecore chargers are good but they're slow. That's why I got a VC4, charges at .5 per battery and it always charges batteries to 4.2. Nitecore IMO is a good starter charger but nothing beats a Xtar imho.
