battery question

Ok I have had my kit for close to a week. Here is my question. The kit came with two batteries. Using the same cart, I have noticed one is very hard to pull through and the other is much easier. They both seem to have the same amount of whole in the threaded portion. 3. I am wondering can they get clogged? what would cause one to be so much harder than the other. one is basically unusable? Can you clean them, is it defective? That would be sad as my passthrough is defective.

I use a straight pin to clean the holes on all of my bats once a week.

I have a very small safety pin that I use. It works well and is a little easier to handle than a straight pin. (A little less likely to get stuck with too)

I like the old-style push-pins - the ones with the round heads. The tips are very soft, so I can put them in the hole, and bend the tip up with a little pressure. It can then push the gunk up and away from the hole, then run it through the slot and it scrapes it all out.
