Ive today received my Riva 510 with 2 750mah battery's, it says in the manual that these battery's need to be charged for 8 hours on there first use. So i plugged one in on the charger and its been on for a couple of hours now and the green LED has come on saying its fully charged?

So will it be okay to use this battery now or should i leave it on charge for the 8 hours?

Yes, it's OK to use.

The 8 hour instructions, although common, are actually mistaken. Lithion-ion batteries, which is what you have, do not need a long initial charge time before use. The 8 hour charging instructions are basically boilerplate left over from the dark times before Li-ions, when rechargeables meant ni-cad or NiMH -- those did require an initial long charge.
