battery question

Can someone tell me if this battery is protected?
Is there a way to tell?

This came from a dead 510 USB passthrough and I want to use this in a mod, but I'd prefer to use only protected batteries.

well, i'll try to help.

from what i've read and seen, no it doesn't appear to be "protected". the fully protected batteries usually have a slight indented ring around the negative end (not just the obvious indent on the positive side) from where the protection chip or "wafer" is sandwiched between the (-) contact and battery core.

I see what you mean now, looking at my protected 14500's. They clearly have the indented ring at the negative end. I'll assume these are not, thanks again!
