Nope, I assume he means the TR-1. No settings, its a pretty basic charger. OP, watch those batts. The 18350 should come off as soon as it is done!

Get you a xtar VP-1 when you can afford it (50 bucks). It has 1/4, 1/2, and 1 amp charge rate settings. I use the 1/4 with my 18350s, the 1/2 with my 18490s, and full strength with my 18650s. It also handles 350s nicely with no BS slider/addition pieces. Also, it has a smart charge algorithm (or some name like) that that slowly brings the power into the battery at the start of a charge, which is supposed to make them happier.

i think 18350s and 18650s will handle 1A recharges easily, but i charge all mine at 0.5A on a VP-1 because for some reason i think of the highest setting as a fast recharge and i am never in a hurry for batteries.
If you are, then buy some more, so you can let them rest a little while when they come off the charger.

Strikes me it has a lot of similarities with cooking meat!

Yup apparently it was because I had the wrong voltage setting on the charger. I installed a fresh 18650 this morning and it's still going strong. Exactly what I was hoping for in this setup. :D

You were likely charging your batteries to 3.5 volts or so on the 3 setting! You should be good now!
