Do Sony or Panasonic make any 18490 or 18500 batteries? I was looking at AW, mainly because I can't seem to find that size by anyone except AW, efest, and the junk ones.

Sony and Panasonic do not make an 18490 or 18500 size battery, at least not any carrying their brand names and sold as such on the market.
It's actually a mystery of where most batteries originate. I've often wondered where AW gets their batteries in those sizes, since its widely believed that they don't make their own batteries but only re-wrap batteries made by Panasonic & Samsung. That explains where the 18650 AW's come from. But who makes the smaller batteries since the major manufacturers from Japan don't appear to make 18350 or 18490/18500 batteries?
The protected ICR AW batteries say on the label, "Made in China, cell and IC made in Japan." The AW IMR batteries only say, "Made in China."
The AW 18490 IMR 1100mah 16.5 amp continuous battery is currently the best battery available in this size on the market. The purple Efest in this size is only 15 amps with the same 1100 mah.
