Hi,
I need help picking the optimal battery for my setup. I'm about 6 months into vaping exclusive, tries a lot of different atties and mods, and I tend to always go back to my Nemesis + 15 w kick with kayfun 4. I run it at around 1.5 ohms at 14w. I've been running it in 18650 mode, using high drain, high amp batteries and had absolutely no issues. What I would love to do is find a suitable 18500 battery to run this exact setup on and shorten my mod a bit. Most of the high drain high amp 18500s though have pretty low capacity 1000-1100mAh .
I just stumbled on Sanyo UR18500FK
$11.18 Authentic Sanyo UR18500FK 18500 1700mAh 3.7V Rechargeable Li-ion Batteries (2-Pack) 2-pack - min capacity 1620mAh / 18.30*49.4mm at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping
It has 2c rating- continuous discharge of about 3.4A .
Plugging my setup in steam engine gives me 3.06A draw.
I guess my question is will this particular battery be suitable for my application, and if not what other 18500 battery would you recommend. Again I'm looking for high capacity, and will be using it strictly for this set up 1.4-1.6ohms at 14w with a sigelei 15w kick.
Thanks

I know nothing about 18490/18500s or kicks, but for batteries I'd stick to Illumination Supply, Lighthound, or RTD Vapor.
Generally I wouldn't get my batteries from FastTech (not dissing FT, I've bought plenty of other stuff from them and most has been fine).

IMHO, 3-3.1A is very close to 3.4A, too close for me. AW is a generally recommended brand around here and on CPF, and they have some 18490 cells.

Vape well and prosper :)

I agree on FT and not planning to buy batteries from them... just posted the link to show the battery I was referring to.
On the 3.1 being too close to 3.4 part: correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that when using a kick, or any regulated device for that matter, the battery gets pulsed and is not continuously discharged so I don't think that's an issue. My main concern is the chemistry of the Sanyo, not being safe.
Thanks for the reply.
