There is a long thread about an exploding battery that has gotten a lot of vapers worried about their pv's so I thought I would start a thread on battery safety and see what the people on this forum have to say about it.

I'll start it of with what little I know or think I know. Feel free to comment or make corrections.

A few simple thing you can do for a safer vaping experience.

Safer charger.
The Pila is the most highly recommended consumer charger on this and other forums. If you do get one you should be aware that the warranty is voided if used with any other than Pila batteries.

Pila IBC Charger for 14500 / 17500 / 18500 / 18650 3.7 volt Lithium Battery Charger

Another one that was recommended is the

Xtar WP2 II Li-Ion Charger

Check the battery voltage,
Get a multimeter and check the battery voltage after it is fully charged. It should not go over 4.2 volts. You can get one for about $10. You an also use it check your cartos for ohms and shorts. Check you batteries when they need to be recharged. They should not be below 4.2 volts.

Don't use cartos below the recommended ohms. Every battery has a recommended discharge rate by the manufacturer. If it doesn't give you the amount of hit and smoke you want get a bigger battery.
