Battery stacking - Safe, or not?

Welcome to ECF . The manufacturer's all recommend against it , but a lot of people do it all the time , myself included . Just make sure your using the good " protected " batteries, not the cheapo's from China . It's very rare to have any problems from this practice , but use your own discretion on this .

Unprotected batteries can be alright also depending on their chemistry. The chance of explosion for unprotected batteries is small anyway, if you don't do things like over-drain or overcharge.

True just have to make sure they don't go under 3.2 volts but for the few extra bucks why even bother?
