What can I use to make my 18350 battery a little longer in my Mech mod? I have button tops that work fine but my flat tops are too short.
is this the wooliston version? i have the SMOK magneto and dont have that problem. i run flat top 350s.
anyways, im gonna guess and say either a 2cent fuse or a kick might help.![]()
Here is a some different lengths I found, View attachment 276246
wow, never knew that. but i have some generic gray 18350 that came with my gf's k100. and an EH brand one. theyre both the same size. dont have a ruler on me to measure them unfortunately. i picked the EH brand one up from a B&M store in my town. $6, i couldnt go wrong.
have you looked into the 2cent fuse or kick idea i suggested? haha. that was off the top of my head and have no clue if it would work. so kinda curious.![]()
That's the main reason I will only use AW 18350's and Panasonic 18650's, that way I never have to worry about the length changing.I find that these batteries come in different lengths with every manufacturer. Some longer, some shorter. What brand 18350 batteries do you use?
When you use a magnet as a battery spacer... (and I do, and use the same 8X1.5mm magnets that James has linked to), you want to make sure and use a rubber (or other non-conductive material) washer of the same thickness or slightly less, to act as both a centering retainer and insulator.
As the magnets tend to self-center anyway, it's not super critical for a desk top mech, but in the event the mech might receive a hard hit or shock, the magnet, if laterally unsupported, can shift sideways and provide you with a (highly undesirable) hard short.
Other than this one caution... no worries. ;-)
