I don't think you should make home grown battery packs with lithium batteries. If one feeds the other (such as if they are not balanced in charge or not the same age), it can explode or catch fire. You can buy circuits that are intended to make packs, but you can't just connect the batteries in parallel. Good luck (and don't explode).

Good point! Important for stacked batteries (in series) not so much so for parallel, as they share the load. Albeit I would still use new batteries in the set up and always keep 'em in pairs.
