Hello and welcome to the forum. Glad to have you here!:)

If you are new to mech mods I highly recommend you spend some time with Baditude (one of our resident battery experts) and visit his blogs. You are now 100% in control of your own safety (and others around you). Make sure you purchase an ohm reader and a voltmeter or DMM so you can measure your builds, check for shorts and measure the remaining charge on your batteries.

Baditudes Blogs. The blogs regarding battery safety, Ohm's Law, amp draw are listed below:

BATTERIES

9. Battery Basics for Mods: IMR or Protected ICR?
* Another essential read to understand which batteries are safe to use in mechanical and regulated mods. Includes a frequently updated list of recommended safe-chemistry, high-drain batteries with their specifications.

17. Purple Efest Batteries Not As Advertised <<= This is the battery you have
* A cautionary blog that reveals that the purple Efest batteries may not have the specifications advertised. Also includes a commentary on "continuous discharge ratings" vs "pulse discharge ratings" of battery specs.

OHM'S LAW

14. Ohm's Law for Dummies (Vapers)
* My attempt at explaining Ohm's Law in layman terms and how it relates to vaping.

16. Explain it to the Dumb Noob: Ohm's Law Calculations
* As simple as it is to use, some people have a tough time grasping the concept. Warning: Includes graphic photos of mod explosions.

BATTERIES - WHERE TO BUY

Only buy batteries from a reputable supplier (not ebay or Amazon) as there are many counterfeit batteries being sold. Here are several reputable battery suppliers in the US.

* RTD Vapor
* Illumination Supply
* Lighthound
* Orbtronics

Why do you think it's not enough power? That is actually a pretty good battery. It's just that there is no such thing as a 35a 2500mah battery. So don't believe what efest states as battery specs.

What resistance is your atomizer?

+1 for being the only one not automatically assuming the op is talking about subohming and spewing battery information.

All the information provided has been good but I would be willing to bet this guy isn't even rebuilding.

We need more information danbmorris. Whats the ohm of the topper you have on that device? are you rebuilding coils? by power do you mean the strength of the pull or the overall battery life on the device?

I'm rebulding coils I don't know the ohms I just rap the wire like the guy at the smoke shop told me ...

That's a bad way to start into rebuilding. You need to know your resistance and need an accurate way to measure it. Once you know it, you can calculate amps then know if your battery is capable of the load you are placing on it.

Here, this multimeter vid, combined with that battery safety vid I posted way up there ^ may help.

When it comes to batteries the conclusion always is about power. How much power do you need... i never used to run any rda with more than 7-8 mA. I actually use batteries such as LG MH1 and Samsung 25R or Efest with 30A but the LG with 10A max will do all my builds well.

The LG MH1 10A will run 0.4ohms/ 9 amps with ease...

Ok so I got the ohms meater and it tells me the ohms voltage. And the watts and the ohms are
0.5 voltage is 3.0 and the watts are 20 is that good but it is a battery I have been using all day should I check in on a fully charged battery

Your on the right track. Try to avoid letting your battery run down below 3.7 volts.

also, don't assume that low resistance builds are the only ones worth doing! the three builds I'm vaping right now are 1, 1.1 and 1.8ohms. you have to find the right build for you, your atty, and your juice. Finding out what works is > 1/2 the fun.

This is very true. I've found that 0.3-0.4 ohm builds have been my favorite so far.
