I would be extremely flattered if this crappy mod could be an inspiration for fellow vapers.
It all started out when a friend of mine introduced me to e-cigarettes. It seemed pretty interesting but I was unwilling to fork out the cash to want to buy a kit as the cost back then was sky high from local suppliers.
My friend was kind enough to donate a cartomiser, some e-juice and a dead ego battery. He told me if I could fix the battery, I would then have my very own e-cigarette. (I do have some basic knowledge on electricals)
However, as you all know, those damn ego batteries are very poor quality stuff made in china and the wire was so damn thin that they were impossible to put back. (Cause of dead battery was a wire broken in 2 places)
And since e-cigarettes used voltage to power up the coils, I wondered "Why not?"
I then proceeded to get a battery holder and switch from a hardware store. I could only get the one that held 4 batteries and was too lazy to modify it to a 3 battery holder or get a dummy battery so I had to use rechargeable batts instead.
I couldn't use alkaline batts as they were 1.5v each and 4 of them would be 6v and that would pretty much burn out the cartomiser I had. Rechargeables are 1.2v and 4 of them would only add up to 4.8 - 5v. (Batteries and charger were once again so kindly donated by said friend)
Then I hastily assembled the whole damn thing using super glue and some connectors to see if it would work, and it did!
I was then happily enjoying my mod but was too lazy to improve on its design (Damned super glue holding the ego connector kept breaking off) and it has been lying in my drawer since.
I'm gonna try another mod using li-po batts this time as they are more compact and easier to work with. (I did not want to use li-po at first due to their tendency to explode if used improperly) but after some research, I am now more confident to work with them.
Wish me luck as I embark on my Journey to the Mod!
