I'm not sure what's changed, but I just got back to my house and found that I had left the big bottle's cap off. The smell of that bottle was significantly different than the 10 mils or so in my pocket bottle which had been filled from the big one about 3 days ago. I put the cap on and shook it, and it seems to have gone back towards the funky smell, but more muted than before. Gonna let it air out another few days then compare it to the little bottle. Still tastes good, just not quite spot on.

I swear it's the Gamel Base. I got both side by side and smell and taste test reveal the base of Gamel in BB. I am not certain, but I don't remember the base tobacco as being like this (all my BB was practically a year steeped). There is definitely a funky taste to Gamel (though I like it), and now, BB. Vebra's "vinegar" adjective is the PERFECT description of the base flavor of Gamel and what I am getting, predominantly, from BB. The first taste that hits your palate is BB (or the other flavor), but it is overcome by that "vinegar" funk.

Embrace the vinegar! It's actually one of the secret ingredients. I would think it should tame down as it steeps but maybe not. I have some I've been adding vinegar to just to give it that extra good flavor lol

Too funny.

I am sure Ben would say, "nothing has changed," but I can't help but to taste what I taste. Like I said, my other BB was always super steeped.

I'm tasting some odd flavors myself actually. I guess Ben is out of practice lol. I know it seems like everyone that ordered is having some taste issues, except for a couple people.

I sincerely thought that people were just over-thinking it, mistaking, or expecting something else considering it may have been there first taste--that was until I tried it. It's still better than most liquids, but not as good as the few bottles of BB I had before. I had just recently ran out of my last bottle and this, sadly, ain't it. Once again, though I don't think this is it, it may be a steeping thing.

Hey everyone,

Thought I'd update my thread here about my perceived taste difference in BB since I started this whole taste fiasco..lol. My friend got in an order a few days after me and he said he tasted the graham cocoa, etc. So he comes over the other night and his tastes exactly like mine...his interpretation is just different than mine.

Then the really interesting part. I went in to my local B&M where I'd tasted BB originally and got to talking to the guy about my taste issue and guess what he pulls out...a 100ml bottle of Bobas from way back when, well steeped with a flavor boost. So I just about demanded he let me taste it...lol. Anyways, it tastes just like mine, raisiny just very well steeped. He's a bobas junky too and said mine tastes like a fresh BB minus the flavor boost he gets.

I guess this solidifies the fact that somehow my taste buds have dramatically changed over the last few months. When I used to read people say BB tastes like raisin/honey i thought they were crazy because I detected no such thing, I only got the rich grahamy cocoa type flavor. Now though I've tasted mine, my friends and the well steeped from before the website fiasco and they all taste the same to me now. I guess months of vaping a million different juices has had its effect.

the new BB flavor perception is growing on me and the juice is still solid, been vaping it for the past 24hrs straight.

Just curious, did you try it on your friend's setup, and if so did it taste different on his setup compared to on yours?

Also, I gotta say, when I first received this last batch of Boba's it tasted just like the old Boba's I remembered and loved.

After reading how some people were getting a raisin taste, I started getting a raisin taste, which was not so bad. But now I am getting a vinegar taste after reading about that, and it's not entirely to my liking.

Could someone please help me out and post some more positive adjectives!

Im sure you guys are experts and light years ahead of me, but here is what I found:

Evod on a 3.7 mini with 1.8-2.0ohm head = graham

Protank is giving me weirdness on my VV device. Mostly honey with some raisin this time on latest batch. What I ran it at last batch, that was awesome is not working any more on this batch....I ended up having to jack the voltage up about .4 to get close to what I remember last time, granted its only a few days old and my previous batch got lost in mail for a week :). Its almost like you can see the honey residue on the glass/bottle, not sure if that's what it really is but I don't notice this with other juices so that's why I suspect (ill see if I can get a good pic).

I don't usually enjoy higher voltage thing yet except in my drippers as I don't think the protank works the same way (cant carry drippers at work and driving...just don't have that much smooth in me yet :) ). For the most part I usually keep the VV device on same volts and just keep my different tanks\juices loaded with the appropriate ohm'd coil needed to get me where I need to be for that particular juice so I don't have to keep switching volts while im driving and changing tanks etc. For the most part this works well for my scenario and tastes.

For what is worth. But im sure you guys have already done this :) with basic t-shooting 101.

I am experiencing same thing with GJ, but haven't tinkered much yet as its only a once in awhile thing for me so far. Plus I tried the Rootbeer thanks to killyjoy and ive been hooked, lined, and reeled in :) I have yet to get a bad taste off of that stuff on any hits which I cant say for the others. Its really growing on me :)

I think a little is mental too, as now that someone mentioned the vinegar.....I seemed to be able to pick that out now.....thanks (sarcasm).

No, regardless of the setup or voltage I get the same flavor. I was originally dripping it in a low res 1.5ohm atty at 3.0-3.3 volts and now have it in a carto/tank setup on my Evic with a 2.8ohm carto at 4.5 volts.

This thread is funny...raisin, vinegar and honey lol....I wonder what Ben would say.

I also noticed the vinegar and raisin taste but discovered after 7 days of steeping that if I shake the bejesus out of it that the flavors meld together better. I'm using a top drip atty at about 4.1 volts with a 1.5 ohm coil. I find that if I shake it at least 5 times throughout the day it's better.

Yea, he is probably rolling around laughing at us :) A good chuckle is always good for the soul. Sure he needs a few with all the recent headaches. Although i must say that site is starting to come along pretty nicely...much better than a few days ago!

BTW, GJ is starting to come around today, pretty much what it tasted like last time.

Honestly, there is something different in the bottle that I got. I've been vaping bobas for a long time, and never ran completely out of it. I've cleaned all my atties and tried a host of different devices, something is definitely different. Still tastes yummy, but it's slightly off. Even dig out some new old stock LR boge atties and the old roughstack to give it a try. Every week it seems to tone down, I guess BB may just need to steep now.
