Sorry, but IMO that's incorrect. Fundamental Rights are not divisible and cannot be delegated or relinquished. You always have them or, if someone attempts to take them away by force, they've committed an atrocity, a crime against humanity, or an act of terrorism. But you still have those INALIENABLE Rights.

Just as 'self-defense' is always an acceptable defense for having killed someone -- you have the right to save your own life from someone trying to take it, even if your self-defense causes their death. When it's kill or be killed, I won't be one of those stupid women standing there letting some smooth-talking so-and-so walk up and take the gun away from me.

I will continue vaping as *I* choose to vape, regardless of whatever the law says about it -- they do not have the right to take that right away from me by any means or machination.

And it took me quite a while to come up with that last word. I had a very bad fall about 45 mins ago, and I have a feeling I'm going to hurting from my collarbones to both kneecaps tomorrow; the knees are already throbbing, quite a distraction from my usual articulation. Good thing I've still got 2/3 of that bottle of pain pills from surgery, because they may come in real handy tomorrow. Aleve tonight so I don't wake up completely unable to move in the morning.

Vaping is a choice predominately made by adults being of sound mind and will continue to be so whatever the legal status may become they can outlaw it if they choose I'll still vape albeit sneakily. Also the "we don't know" line is used by people who can't be bothered to stay up to date with the current research or are not interested either way your opinion is worth as much to me as a packet of smokes.

Contrary to ANTZ shrill claims of "we just don't know" and "not enough studies", There are over 2000 published studies on vaping. If you'd like to find them, PubMed is open to all. Many of these articles are freely available, the others you can read the Abstracts.

But, let me make this task less daunting. Here is a nearly complete list of vaping studies and articles:
E-cigarette research, studies and papers - 2014

Vapers should be familiar with the state of the science, so they can accurately claim that
1000+ studies verify vaping is a 95-100% safer and at least 66% effective alternative to smoking
And that the rest of the studies, disparaging this life-saving technology, are dogmatic incompetent drivel, as exposed in the following peer-reviewed article
BMC Medicine | Full text | E-cigarettes: methodological and ideological issues and research priorities

ETA: Guidelines for advocacy:
Campaign For Truth In Public Health

Thanks, Doc. Hadn't seen the BMC article. "Conflicts of Interest" kind of describes the whole anti-vaping crowd. Good information there, including THIS link

A critique of a World Health Organization-commissioned report and associated paper on electronic cigarettes - McNeill - 2014 - Addiction - Wiley Online Library

We probably have it posted elsewhere, but it probably doesn't hurt to re-post it.

My apologies for trivializing the concept of fundamental, inalienable rights. It was not my intent.
In the interests of brevity and impact, and considering the context of the discussion, I put forth a hard-boiled egg: the federal government has no defined jurisdiction in this matter.

AndriaD, you put your thoughts across very well as you always do.....even under pain and stress! My wishes for you to heal quickly and those prescribed pain pills needn't be used. :nun:

Thx. :D It turned out I didn't need them after all, maybe because I started hitting the Aleve hard that very night that I fell, so it kept the swelling down. My knees are still very painful (and will be rainbow-colored in a few days, I'm certain!), even the back of my right knee, and the back of my right arm for some reason, I think it caught a wall-corner, but now I'm down to ibuprofen.

At least I didn't break the glass I had in my hand (or any bones, thank god -- I've never been so grateful for my dense bones!). :thumb: Note to self: ceramic tile is really hard on the knees! I really gotta get some of these boobytraps out of my house!
