I posted this question prior in another thread, but it got lost in the "fruf".

Not to beat a dead horse, but I ordered some "stainless" BE112's from China several months ago. They had a chrome ring, but the atomizer shaft was also chrome/shiny. Are the shafts on the ones from PS more of a matte finish (like brushed stainless), or a chrome finish? It is hard to tell from the pics on the site. I have several of the chrome ones, and I don't want to order more of what I already have. I want to de-bling my PV. Thanks!

Just got a couple in on Thursday, they are the shiny chrome finish. I would have preferred the brushed look to match the V2, they are dripping machines however. imagine I could take some sand paper to them to remove the chrome, but decided to just enjoy them as they are.

Thanks...you just saved me a few bucks. I have a bunch of the chrome ones already. I tried an emery board on one. Maybe I sanded too much, but there is brass (or at least a brown metal) underneath that chrome. Maybe steel wool will take the shine off without exposing the metal underneath? Picky, picky

A piece of wet/dry P600 and a cordless drill should yield a brushed finish.....

This 510 atty was black before....

Yep, that works great on a 510. The chrome BE112's have only a thin coat of chrome, and if sanded the brass/copper (?) shows through. I was able to use a fine scotch-pad like pad and get it done. Even then, I used too much pressure (even in my hands, not a drill) and the brown metal underneath showed through. After a few tries, I figured out to go lightly and was able to get a semi brushed finish. I don't know the grade of pad or I'd tell you, but it is a soft, flexible gray material. I found it in a kit to refinish SS appliances in my kitchen.
