This mod uses a diode in series with the atty to provide about 4.2V. My first mod ran at a straight 5V with a 901 and runs a little hot. Since I like the BE112 pen style best, I decided to make one to run at 4.2V (measured under load).

Once I got it 'built' I had trouble getting the switch mounted, so it stayed outside, but is solid enough.

It's now my favorite vaporizer.

It's plugged into my Kensington battery pack for testing. The vape is just right for me. It gives more vapor than the same atty on battery or regular pass through, but at the same time it doesn't get so hot that it burns juice.

The adapter is the mono phono plug part from Radio Shack, thanks to the person that found that, it works perfectly. The adapter is silver soldered (no lead and strong) directly to the inside of the end cap. The center conductor is the center from a push on 'F' type cable TV connector with it's nylon spacer and springy part. The body is part of an air column pipe used in plumbing with pre-sealed end. I need to get some smaller wire so I can fit the parts better.

My first USB mod was lighter than it's cable, which was an annoyance, so I decided to make one with some weight to it. This one stays where I put it :).

The pin works perfectly. It's an easy solder connection and the part that sticks out is a Z shape. I lined the inside of connector with shrink tubing to be sure there is no short circuit even if the Z should get tweaked (not at all likely). I get about 1/2 turn once I feel the atty engage the Z, no need to tighten further.
