I haven't been on these forums for a couple months due to a variety of things. The other day I realized that I was low on juice and a few odds and ends so I decided to visit and see whats new. Needless to say I am impressed to heck with the look of the ego/tornado and plan on picking one up as soon as they are in stock.
Now, what I don't get is all of these "tube" pvs. It may be just me but I find it a bit ridiculous that there are about 50 different tube models. Is this what's going to be the norm? It seems that nobody is trying to advance vaping, just cash in on others work. First it was the screwdriver, gg, and a few others. It seems like when the Prodigy hit the floodgates opened. Sorry for the wall of text but color me disappointed over the lack of progress.
Maybe it's at a dead end until an advancement in battery comes along.

Well, until someone makes readily available, conveniently chargeable, high capacity batteries in a different form factor, the tube style will always be the most common. In addition, there are lots of box mods, again, because of the high availability of project boxes that hold two or more tube style batteries. The majority of designs out are mods, not start from scratch designs, so you are stuck with the base form factor of the thins you are designing around or in. If you are looking for newer shapes, check out ecigmods.com. His newest PV mod is based on a handheld pencil sharpener and is much more ergonomic the the standard tube...

I think battery development is, for now, pretty satisfying. I'd like to see the atomizer worked over for better reliability and longevity. Also, juice delivery is a big drawback. All those cart mods (ZFM, BFD, PTB, ad nauseum) are a testament to the fact that you gotta provide juice for a longer time to make the vaping process more enjoyable.
Make no mistake, I love vaping. I just wish it were better.

I think partly because no-one outisde of China is actually MAKING any attys - afaik. Im sure alot of companies have R&D on em - specially the tobacco companies if they've a lick of business sense - but we wont see a single one if the FDA have their way.
WOuldn't surprise me to know theres a bunch on the drawing boards of many places, but who's gonna invest in an industry that might be driven underground at some point?
Hopefully the future will be brighter.

Disappointing? Have you seen the juice box, the Mr. puffer, the fist pack? Don't you call these advances?
