hi everyone; this question about becoming a supplier is for my doctor, not for me, and i'm hoping to get a little advice here;

a month ago i saw my doc and told him i was using the e-cigarette, he was very interested. he wants to carry them there in the front office. he has a practice with a couple of other doctors, all three of them want to do this together. i told him i would look into it for him, but i totally spaced it and have an appointment today at 2:00pm, lol. obviously i won't get any answers in time but i am friends with his office mgr, i can always e-mail her with the info.

he knew a little about it, but not much. where do i direct him to? or where should he start? he did pull up some e-cig brand on the computer that he had been looking at, but it was the usual junk floating around on the web. i told him to wait, that i would see what i could find out. any advice or direction would be appreciated. thanks

The vendors I've done business with who carry a lot of easy PVs for beginners are Liberty Flights (talk to Ty, AKA ImYourSalt; the wonderful and knowledgeable Vicky from Cignot; Shawn from LiteCig; Lorikay13 from SmokeStik (expensive but ridiculously easy to use supermini). Just for starters. There are plenty of great vendors here on ECF.

What kind of PV did you have in mind? 510? kr808? 4081? They are all nice starter units.

Ditto on recommending ECF and CASAA. Then, talking to his attorney. Sadly, with the way the FDA is working, I could see big problems for a doctor to pedal something that is controversial. That could get a lot of backlash. I think all the scaremongering is completely wrong, but still has to be taken into account with such a sensitive career.

CASAA may have some really good pamphlets directed toward harm-reduction, and ECF business cards would be a good thing to have on the desk. I am totally for all of this, and would love to open a lounge sometime, but I would not jeopardize my career or prison time if I were a doctor.

Oh... He wants to sell them? From his office? For extra income? Wow, that's weird.

I misunderstood the OP; I thought he wanted to learn about e-cigs so he could recommend them to his patients...

Very strange. And in the case of FDA-unapproved meds/devices, illegal. Doctors do not sell stuff. Period. This is very bizarre.

Promoting and selling medical or non‐medical products to patients for a profit is not only unethical, it constitutes a direct conflict of interest.

I'd suggest you direct him right here to ECF to do some research before getting involved in selling anything PV related. If you don't know much about something how can you make recommendations and sell good stuff?

Very good suggestion I also would add that I got the free disposable from Apollo and my son found it excellent.

being doctors they probably have access to all the lawyers and what not they would need, but this is an interesting thing.. doctors selling e-cigs. This should be on the news! Setting a great example of harm reduction, imo.

go for it, I say

In many countries they are sold in pharmacies.

wow, thanks everyone, for your suggestions. when i went to see him today i did tell him about this forum, we pulled it up on the computer there in the exam room.

i don't know if he is really looking to make a profit. he mentioned they seem to get more than a few pregnant women who smoke coming in there throughout their pregnancy. his main concern is getting these women off of cigs, among other things.

thanks for the other link to the casaa (i think). i will forward this to him.

One of my local pharmacies sells e-cigs right up front at the cigarette counter. It's not a bad little unit either, it's 510 compatible and says so right on the package. They charge $29.95 for one battery, one atty, a charger, and 5 cart's, and it's not a disposable. A pack of prefilled cart's is $10.95. They don't carry juice though.
