Afternoon Everyone...I recently heard from Kathy and she has had a personal family emergency, so she will be unable to do the sale today. She is very sorry and hopes everyone can understand!

I told her not to worry, we are all more than willing to wait...as I'm sure you all will agree! :) Please keep her and her family in your thoughts & prayers. Thanks!!!!

Kathy, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Grammie, how is your daughter doing?

Still massive headaches (part of that is the stress level and PSTD, scared to drive now (she's 30, driving on the farm since 6yrs old)). Latest dr report, severe sprained neck & spine and concussion. She'll be under dr's care for a while to come. Now we just need to help get her back to her old self again. The trama was really bad from this accident . . . that's going to take a lot of time to mend.

Thanks for asking! (for others that don't know, she was in an accident last Friday evening, she hit a COW! The vehicle in front of her didn't see the cows and the vehicle behind her didn't see the cows! How there was no one killed I'll never know, just wasn't her or my granddaughters time to leave us. I'm just glad she was driving my car. We finally got the report today that it is a total loss (go figure, 2000lb cow), after they told us the car would be fixed just a few days ago.

It's amazing what it takes to make people take responsibility for their neglect. Actually, it takes a lawyer to scare the _ _ _ _ out of them, but that was the only way this time to get their attention. I really couldn't live with myself if we didn't persue this and someone else die because of a cow owners neglect. We can prove neglect because he has a pending case for damages from a previous cow incident & numerous reports filed with the authorities (police).

Oh Grammie, I am so sorry to hear this. Not sure how the cow owner could deny responsibility. Even if there was an opening in his fence he should still be liable.
Tell Cari I am praying for her and to take all the time she needs to heal to be the old Cari we all know and love...

:)

It's Jodi (two grandkids), not Cari. Cari doesn't drive, took drivers ed twice, passed both times but she's never been comfortable driving so she let her license lapse. Cari Ann is the oldest, Jodi the youngest.

I got hit head-on on the freeway in 2002. I remember how traffic and traffic noises freaked me out on the drive home from the hospital so I can somewhat relate. I can't pinpoint an exact timeframe, but it wasn't too long to put it behind me. Obviously the first few weeks is when it's most present, but it gradually fades. I never considered not driving again though, and more importantly, neither of my kids was in the car. I'm sure that she will heal with time and help.

Head injuries suck. I'm sure that you'll make sure they keep a close eye on her. Make sure to keep track of any unusual behavior. My MIL had a serious TBI three years ago. (It took her a week to wake up.) Please PM me if I can point you to any websites or if you just have questions.

Animals are the worst. We live in deer country so I've hit more than my fair share. There's not much you can do when they suddenly are in your path. I'm so sorry it took this to get their attention, but hopefully it will save someone else from going through this.

You definitely know what she's going thru! I'll bet one thing, I'll bet you haven't forgotten much about that accident.

We are definitely in the backwoods, deer country! This was her second accident, 2 years ago she had 3 deer jump on the hood and windshielf of the car going home after her 3-11 shift. She was able to drive it back to my house but left the front license plate in the road . . . had to go fetch that. Also, it was the same car that got the cow! Been a good vehicle keeping her alive!
