because I have failed miserably at vaping :-x
I did well for a few months then I developed a constant cough (vape- cough, vape-cough) and headaches. Thought I had conquered the headaches by increasing water consumption. Thought it might be a PG sensitivity, switched to VG with no luck. Thought it might be high nic levels, switched to lower levels with no luck. Back on the analogs and back up to just over a pack a day. Don't know what else to do other than try again in a month or two.

I see a Lot of new people here! how great is that?!! welcome and good luck!! to all that I've not 'spoken' to.

MeMa, so sorry to hear you're having a difficult time! :( it does seem maybe trying something different in the flavoring department might help. did you notice any difference between flavorings in terms of the coughing? or did all, regardless of flavor/throat hit act the same?

i don't think you need to keep a low profile here, hanging out may eventually trigger an idea that will serve as a solution--or perhaps having some fresh minds on the problem will help.

Please keep trying! You've gotten some good suggestions here - I rather like the patch and 0mg cart idea. Do what ever it takes to get off those nasty ciggies, ok? What ever it takes!

Thanks for the support and understanding! This truly is the best forum around!
I have tried many flavors and love most of them! It just seems odd that I started having problems after 3 months. I've witnessed so many here quit smoking altogether and even though I was only able to cut down to half a pack a day, it was quite the accomplishment after smoking 1.5-2 pks day for well over 30 years. I have tried the patch, the gum and other things, but truth be told - I love smoking which is why I really want vaping to work. I'm not ready to give up on the idea of vaping, I try every day because I really want it to work.
I still 'lurk' trying to find inspiration, I just don't feel right offering support/advice to others.
Thanks again! keep your fingers crossed! maybe tomorrow will be the day!

Hey, MeMa! Great to see you here! Failure? Huh? There's an old saying that goes something like 'the only failure is in not trying in the first place'. Never consider yourself a failure because you've hit a bump in the road, gal. I've been away for a few months because I got myself involved in something that was way more high stress than I had anticipated and I, too, dropped the ball (or rather the e-cig) for a period of time. I hated myself for it but just couldn't seem to get with the program again. Well, until I stopped doing what I was doing. Now I admit that it doesn't say much for my strength of character under pressure and my determination to stay the h..ll away from cigs but I always knew that I was not ready to pack my Vapor King away. Frame of mind is so very important. And, I must say, frequenting this forum with all the great people here is very much like a support group in a way. For all the threads that we read about people who were able to leave cigs behind almost immediately, I do believe there are those like us who, for one reason or another, have a much harder struggle with the nic demon.

But, unless you have an underlying health problem causing this cough (have you seen a doctor about it?) and I pray that's not the case, do not beat yourself up over this. The fact that you have come to this forum again to post shows that you still consider yourself part of the V4L 'family' (as we do you). It seems that once you have experienced vaping -especially with such a great ecig as this! - it stays with you even when you fall off the wagon. It is always kind of beckoning you and scolding you for not picking it up.

Hang out with us, girlfriend ... read and post for goodness sake! We are all here for one another both in the good and bad times! If you ever need to talk, feel free to PM me.

Glad to see you back!

Welcome back MeMa: I am sorry to here it is not going well. You were missed and the Puggy too!. Now you listen you are family no matter what. We will not give up on you so don't give up on us. You have been there for alot of us let us return the favor. It doesn't matter weather you smoke, vape, sing in the shower or howl at the moon ( sorry the last two were for me).YOU JUST STAY HERE WITH US!! :pervy::wub::pervy::wub::pervy::wub::wub:

Mema, I'm sorry to hear about your troubles. I'd like to add my vote that you remain active on the forum. You still know a great deal about this obsession of ours and bring a lot of value with your posts.

I'm thinking you are having some sort of reaction to one of more of the flavorings, too. Probably something similar to a peanut allergy.

Mema, you really don't think you're going to get rid of us easily, do you? :)

Stay with us, things are improving and advancing daily in the vaping world. Each minute that goes by is another minute of experience gained collectively on all the forums here at ECF. More and more technical information is coming available all the time and this is especially important for those who are having issues to stay on top of it so they might find solutions to their vaping problems.

If it was easy for everyone, then we wouldn't even need forums to hash out what's not going well or right and it would get pretty darned boring around here if all we did was talk about the good stuff all the time.

So, stick around and tell us what is going on with you. The bad experiences we hear about from people are the most educational and are what causes improvements to happen.
