I'd just like to thank everyone for being so helpful. I'm a bit of a noob, and still trying to learn as much as I can. So I figured it was about time I made my first 5 posts to the forum. **disclaimer** I read through my post and it's rambling and long - I apologize. You probably only need to read the last paragraph.....
I started in late October with a V2 kit with their 12mg juice (yeah I know.....) Wasn't enough to get me off analogs. The nic level was too low, and good god those juices were not tasty (Sahara was the only one I could stomach). I tried searching the forums for juice suggestions and info on refilling my own cartos. Seems laughable now, but it was pretty daunting before I found a How-to video lol. I found Backwoods Brew Casablanca and boom, starting preferring the vape taste. I've been sampling other vendor's juices over the months, as well as more of BB. Casablanca is still my main vape, but I find I need a switch up every now and then. I've read this is normal.
I upgraded to SI X2 batteries a few months ago. Love the battery life on these. I thought I was a "heavy" vapor, but my 650 lasts me almost an entire day (wake up - past dinner time ) and my 900 lasts me almost 2 days. So, maybe I'm a medium vapor......obviously some days I vape more than others.
I've mainly been using cartomizers from SI and Bloog. However, I've noticed now after being off analogs for a while that I can taste and smell everything again. After being a pack/+ day smoker for 15 years this is both a good and bad thing. The bad part is that now I think I can taste the filler material in cartos once I get past the first few drags. The vape feels super dry unless the filler is freshly saturated with juice. After much research (Thank you Steeljan) I ordered some 808 1.5mL Phoenix BC clearos. The difference in taste is astounding. However, I am getting dry hits frequently (I use 70pg/30vg juices, so not super thick) I've done the squeeze thing to get bubbles out.....the problem is that I tend to be a chain vapor when I sit down in front of the TV or comp, so these are not optimal for that. Aside from getting new batteries and dripping (I only have autos - I'd rather not risk it even though they are "sealed autos" I understand they still do have a hole ) is there any other option that I've managed to miss? I'm hesitant to go with larger 510 mods to use a tank (lavatube, provari, etc), and hesitant to use adapters. I'll be the first to admit that I'm a complete lunatic when it comes to housefires and the safety of my dogs and cat, (scarring experience as a child with a barn fire killing all the horses....) I understand that this fear will limit my vaping options.
I am not comfortable handling naked batteries, nor am I comfortable storing a lot of batteries in my home. I know a lot of people are not comfortable using adapters - I've come to the conclusion that they can short the battery and cause a dangerous situation? Am I coming to the wrong conclusion on this? Anyway, this post is to clear up my understanding of adapters and see if there are any other options besides the phoenix for X2's. (I've used SI clearos and they leak out the top if you keep them in your pocket, so that's a no go)
Thank you to anyone who responds to this and again I apologize for the rant/ultra long post.
