Been vaping for about 6 weeks but still figuring it out, little help with the technical side of things?

Hello folks,
I started vaping as a way to quit smoking which success! I quit smoking and took up vaping and its been great. A few problems though I am still getting the hang of all of this. I purchased an ecig, a Vision Spinner, which I love to death. I am planning to purchase another one as a backup for the days when I just apparently cannot stop vaping, it must be those high stress days lol ;-) My only issue is that I am looking for a bigger tank and I have no idea what's compatible with it in terms of a bigger tank. When I bought my Spinner the vape shop I was in just sold me a regular looking tank and I want something that holds a lot more ejuice than what this one holds. But I also want to buy back-up coils/wicks (not sure the official term) so I can stop going into the vape shops and buying them one at a time. However, I don't know which size I would need, the terminology is almost lost on me. My husband understands how to do all this, he has learned how to build and rebuild his own coils/wicks. Only problem with this is that he is military and downrange. The Vape for Vets project btw is awesome, they totally sent him a new kit plus juices since he's been there but while he's there and he has this info, I don't. I don't want to learn to build the coils just yet, right now I just need some advice on buying a bigger tank that will be compatible with my Spinner and the new Spinner, same model, I plan on buying. I already have a favorite e-juice so I am not even fussed on that but I just need some advice. What size coils am I needing to buy as back-ups for when they need switching out? I learned the hard way when they need switching out so that's not a problem but I need help in terms of larger tank compatibility and wick/coil sz for backups so I can change them out myself at home. Plus if anyone has any advice on where to buy like a case to keep all this in, that would be great! I am getting a little fed up digging in my purse for all this stuff or it just getting placed in random places around my house but not where I need it when I need it. That makes me sound disorganized, really I just want a case to keep all this stuff in one place so that when I need it whatever it may be, its all in one spot. Any help and info is greatly appreciated. Thank you so much in advance for your help!!

A photo of what you're used to might help.
But just for starters, on a Spinner, a really good option is one of the ProTank or AeroTank variations, or a Nautilus.
A full size one will be fatter than your spinner, but should offer or come with a ring that makes a nice-looking transition in diameter. A "Mini" will hold less liquid, but be the same diameter as your battery...

Either device, there are choices in coils - single or dual, and then the resistance.
If you like a "hotter" vape, you can get a lower resistance (1.5 to 2.0 usually) or since your spinner can be adjusted "up," you can get a higher resistance (like 3.0 ohms). They vape a little different, but it's all just personal preference.

Here's one reputable website that carries the Nautilus and the Aerotank stuff including coils at good prices.

Lol, I came here today with the same kind of question. I'm new to vaping, I have an EVOD starter kit, and I'd like to start using a bigger tank to hold more juice, but I'm not sure if the basic EVOD battery will work with a bigger tank? I've tried reading the recommended links on voltage/wattage/ohm and all it did was remind me of failing that section in science in high school, :(.

I really wish there was a vaping for dummies (that didn't involve lots of math).

The Spinner is an eGo-style battery. It has 510 threads on top and eGo threads further down on the outside. It should take almost any clearomizer or atomizer. The only thing to watch out for is 808 threaded toppers which will not fit.

Luckily you chose the most standard type battery there is. There's almost too much to choose from.

I'll leave the clearomizer suggestions to others. I don't use them much. I use carto-tanks mostly. My favorite is the 22mm Carto-Tank from IBTanked.com

I suggest you start by reading Baditude's Blogs, especially the one about proper terminology and the one about a good beginner's setup.

For good storage ideas (both for at home and for carrying around), take a look here: E-Cigarette Accessories Discussion

Hello.
As DancingHeretik said, the Spinner has an inner 510 thread and an eGo outer thread.
You may use either of 510/eGo clearomizers or cartomizers. Also, the Spinner has a variable voltage feature, so you may adjust the output voltage until you get the right amount of vapors without the burning taste. For XXL clearo`s you may use am adapter like this one: con protectie mare-mic (10).jpg.
Hope this is helpful.
Happy vaping, Merei.

Since your Spinner is an eGo-class battery (15 mm diameter), I'd recommend Kanger clearomizers that are eGo-threaded (also 15 mm diameter) like T3S, eVod, mini ProTank 2 or mini Aerotank (dual coils). If you want a bigger tank, you can use any of the 510-threaded Kanger clearomizers (ProTank 2 or Aerotank) but they will be a bit top heavy on your Spinner--they are ~19mm in diameter. They all come with replaceable coils. Discount Vapers, MyVaporStore and Sun Vapers, among others, carry them.

Good luck!

Hi SilverenRose, nice to meet you and welcome to ECF. Also thanks to your husband for his service to our country.

The suggestions you have here are all good. I personally like the Kanger clearomizers (Aerotank particularly), but there are many fans of the Nautilus clearomizers too. Both brands feature various size tanks to suit your needs, and allow you to purchase replacement atomizer heads (prebuilt coil+wick) that are easy to install.

The Spinner style batteries are a great choice and I own one as well. As you vape more that battery life on a single Spinner may not be sufficient if you are on the go a lot. An MVP 2.0 would be a good upgrade for better battery life when you're ready. It also has some additional features like variable wattage.

What you purchase to stay organized will depend on your lifestyle, and may involve several different items to meet the needs. It may sound crazy, but there was a thread on the Nicoticket subforum recently by a woman who is using a spice rack to keep her bottles of liquid neatly organized. For your Spinner you might find a lanyard works well if you're on your feet a lot, or a cup holder carrier for your car if you're in the car for long periods. It depends...and your needs may change.

For a general pouch that is useful for storing all sorts of items you can pick up something like this. They are a dime a dozen and often sold with starter kits. I have one that I keep odds and ends in, but it's annoying since it doesn't hold anything snug so it all just bangs around in there. YMMV.

eGo Leather Carry Case

Good luck on your journey. PM me if you have troubles and need a hand.

An alternative to the bigger tank might be multiple smaller tanks. A bonus with this is that you can carry different flavors (or different nicotine levels) that will fit into your mood at the time, and if a coil goes bad without an immediate spare you can just grab another tank. Just another option for you.

I started with EVODs. Learned to rebuild those coils this summer. Recently got a couple of full-sized Nautiluses for my bigger mods. Also got the Nauti mini and a few Protank 2's for my "stick" mods. I grabbed the PT2s because I can use my EVOD coils in them :)

I think multiple tanks is a fair way to go. Like philoshop suggests, multiple tanks lets you quickly swap flavors. I usually have 3 or 4 tanks at the ready at about any time. Never know when I want to switch from blueberry coffee cake to almond joy to strawberries and cream :)

Wow! I did not expect so many replies, thank you all so much for the suggestions and tips! I am going to have to read through them a few times to pick up the terminology, I'm not slow per se just run off my feet these days and I want to find the time to absorb all of this so I understand exactly what everyone has said and am not so confused in the future. Should only take me a few moments but I prefer to absorb new info without my kids wanting my attention every 2 minutes it makes it very hard to focus or pick up new info, other parents I know you feel my pain on this lol.

I do have two tanks but only one flavor I actually like. I've tried others and they just don't suit me. I tend to be very picky and stick with one thing when I like it so having just one large tank would suit me very well and if I want to change back and forth well, I have the two tanks that are regular size that I am using right now. As for the cases, I was really looking for one that would hold onto like 3 bottles of juice plus two ecigs so I will take a look at the links given to me here (Thank you!) and if I can't find what I am looking for I may just improvise and modify one. When you all say batteries for the ecigs are you talking about what hooks onto the tank, the part that's like a cigarette or some more specific part, something smaller internally? Forgive my ignorance, I am very new.

I have seen the Kanger tanks, those are the ones I was looking at I just had no idea if they were compatible or not. Like I said I am going to read through all the replies again and then let you know what I've been thinking about purchasing in terms of a big tank, and maybe you all can help me figure out if they are compatible or not? I'd love to tell you I will pick this up fast but the kind of technical knowledge I pick up quickly has a lot more to do with university and less to do with electronics, if that makes sense and I get the feeling this will be a learning through practice if that makes sense.

I really just wanted to say thank you for all the tips, I am grateful. I look forward to being more active here since it seems I've found a nice community of folks here :) Happy Vaping! :)

^^^^^

I'd like to second that; having a row of 4 or 5 tanks all loaded and ready to go can be very advantageous;

When you tank goes empty or you want to change the coil, you just swap out the tank and put on a ready loaded tank, then you can prep the old tank when convenient; when you put in a new coil it needs some time for the liquid to soak the wick anyway.

A Spinner is considered a battery. True, the actual battery is internal to the Spinner (and other eGo-styles). But, since the battery isn't removable or replaceable, the whole thing is usually called a battery.

I'm with you on this. I am going to have to read and re-read all the terminology with the math and numbers a few times to make sure it sticks in my memory so I know what I am doing in the future. Right now they are just random numbers lol My husband know what it all means but that's him I'm kinda like "huh?" Trust me, you are so not alone. This was supposed to be in reply to the other newbie on this thread but it posted wrong, go me! lol
