Been lurking in the reo section for about a week & possibly getting one in a few weeks. Can anybody tell me about the battery life for the grand & mini 2.1? I'd like to have something that lasted all day. I currently have an ego twist 650 & 1000 and have to swap them at the end of the day. I'm terrified of the thought of rebuilding coils, I plan on just using atomizers. How long will those last before I have to swap them out? I know it's a big jump from a twist to a reo, but I love dripping and I might as well get a sturdy first and hopefully ONLY brand of mod I'll be using exclusively. Also, should I go ahead and get a repair kit & a few replacement parts? Sorry to be a pain, I just want all of my bases covered so I can be completely set up.

The Reo 18490 is a super mini it is just about the same size a reo mini other then it is thicker .The biggest improvement is it uses a larger battery the AW imr 18490-18500. This is a perfect mod for someone who needs a compact mod with enough battery power to get them through a work day . The 2.1 has a few changes A larger juice well to accommodate bottom fed re buildable atomizers .I have also rounded the back corners of the mod for comfort

If they have larger batteries than the stick type they should hold up pretty good

Hi, constance, I'm Jan. On the question about batteries, the Grand runs on an 18650 battery which should last all day....or it does for most people, I think. You know battery life is hard to predict because we all vape differently. One 18650 will get me through the day. It has 1600 mAh, so one of those equal the vape time of your 650 and your 1000 mAh eGos put together. The 2.1 uses an 18490 battery that has 1100 mAh, so time-wise it'd be about like the 1000mAh eGo. Also, the Grand has a 6ml bottle, and the 2.1 has a 3ml bottle...so your decision may be affected by how much you vape per day and whether or not you mind carrying extra juice.

They're both really nice, so it really comes down to what you want/need. Whichever one you get, you'll love it.

About rebuilding coils....you might really be surprised at how easy it is. Don't rule it out....at least in the future, because it really produces the best vape in the world.

I wouldn't get the repair kit at all. You won't need it. If you wanted to pick up an extra spring you could, but you don't really need to. The button cover is a nice little extra that I'd recommend. Makes the firing button cool looking and comfortable.

Batteries and a charger....and an atty or a few and you'd be set.

Good luck deciding.....but don't lose sleep over it....you'll love any REO, I'm certain. It will take vaping to a new level for you....convenient and reliable and easy. Go for it. I'd just like to add that the AW IMR batteries really *do* make a difference, so I'd strongly recommend spending the few extra bucks to get the recommended batteries (I have a set that's nearly 2 yrs old and still going, so they're not THAT expensive).

Also, based on your all day need, I'd really recommend the grand over the mini's. Many folks (like me) start out with a mini and wind up getting the grand for the extra juice and battery life. Almost invariably, their first post after receiving it is along the lines of "It's a LOT smaller than it looked like in the pictures". A grand is only about the size of a business card (although thicker), so go with what you think will fit your needs.

Most of us started out with cartos or atomizers, so by all means use those at first. Even so, you'll find yourself at a whole new level of convenience and functionality with a REO. You can always grab the rebuildable (REOsmod's RM2 is EXCELLENT and EASY) later. And like Jan said, any questions at all, don't hesitate to ask. There's a huge subforum here of REO fans that like nothing better than helping others to get to the vaping spot we're all in.

Hi Constance. Just wanted to chime in here quick. I think you will love having a Reo, both for the ruggedness and the super vape. I bought my first Grand nearly 3 years ago and I've never looked back. Gals seem to like the Mini 2.1 and guys seem to go for the Grand. Keep in mind the Grand is not nearly as large as you would think. If you choose the mini, you will need to throw a batt in your pocket each day but it will really be worth it. I get a full day out of of the Grand with an IMR 1600, which is the recommended batt. Building coils is as easy as making your morning coffee so I would really think about grabbing the RM2 if you can. With all of us handholders here we can get you up and running in no time. A lot of folks choose to grab a dime sized fuse that may save you from any noob mistakes while you're learning. Just slips underneath the battery. For around 15 buxx its a great insurance policy. Read the description of the Mini 2.1 carefully. It might get you through a WORK day (8 hours). OTOH, the Reo Grand's 6 ml bottle and 2000 mAH 18650 battery last me from wake-up to bedtime. I carry a backup eGo with cartomizer in my computer bag, but that's it. The Mini 2.1, as pointed out, only has half the juice and battery capacities.

I did buy the repair kit, but I'm a "be prepared" kind of person. If you don't get it, at least get a spring. You don't need a safety fuse, especially with the ceramic base RM2. I think they over-compress the spring.

Get a couple of spare o-rings and a couple of spare post screws for the Reomizer 2. As said above, the RM2 is dead simple to coil and wick. If you get one, Rob has samples of 28 AWG Kanthal. He also has 2.5 mm silica wick, but you may want to stick with wicks made from cotton balls.

You'll need batteries. Stick with the recommended AW IMR batteries (2000 mAH for the Grand). I rotate three, but don't carry a spare to work. NEVER just put a battery in your pocket or purse! Get a plastic case that holds two batteries. Wait, get TWO, so you can have one for each spare battery with a bottle of juice and some cotton in each. That's my long weekend setup. I got the batteries and cases from ProVape.

This is the battery charger I use. They make a four cell version, but I have limited space on my end table. This charger can also operate off vehicle/boat 12VDC power (you'll need a cord), so you can charge your batteries from your vehicle in the event of a power outage.

You found the right place and the right mod! Now if you could just decide on a size

I'd suggest a grand. Once that bad boy is full of juice with a fresh battery, you can leave for the day with just it (and a back up carto & drip tip stashed somewhere) and vape your brains out without fear of battery dying or juice running out.

I keep the backup drip tip and carto in each of my vehicles cause if you ever drop your REO, the drip tip and heater are usually what don't survive - the REO will be fine (maybe a scratch or 2 )

I would be remiss if I don't just suggest to get 2 in your two favorite colors, then you can swap doors and you'll save yourself a ton if anxiety waiting on your next one .

What everybody else said. I use a 2000 mah AW IMR in my Grand with a 1.5 ohm micro coil and I chain vape all day with it (easily 12 hours). A higher resistance atty will get you even more time.

I'm not an "orange girl" either but surely do love my new Orange Powder Coat Mini 2.1 a lot!!!!! Those colors are so vibrant.

congrats on going for a reo! I can probably help ya a little. I just got my reo a few days ago and was stuck on the mini 2.1 vs grand. I really wanted something not big and annoying. I settled on the grand and its really the perfect size. the 6ml juice bottle easily lasts me all day, the size is good, its super reliable and the 2900mah battery ive been using goes all day no problem. go with the grand, you wont be disappointed. I also built my first coil when I got my grand and its not something you can master overnight, but there is nothing to be worried about. its pretty simple to set up a basic reliable coil.
