Hello,

I need some advice and thoughts, please.

My girlfriend, Jackie, has a ProVari Mini, uses 18350's and has recently started using a nautilus Mini (BVC's). The batteries (5 of them in rotation) read 4.2 volts off the Pila.

The charges used to last over 8 hours. Now less than 4 hours. batteries, all 5 of them, read 3.2 when light starts to flash.

We changed the spring in July. I stretched the spring, cleaned the threads and put Noalox on them. Always put a little on during it's weekly maintenance which just happened yesterday. Didn't help.

I just now put in a new spring to see happens before sending her in.

Any thoughts are much appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi

What is the resistance (ohms) of the heads on the Nautilus? My 18350s are 700 mAh and I'm not sure they come any much higher. They are little batteries. If the the resistance of the coil is low, 4 hours isn't unusual.

Theoretically,
100 mAh is is equal to 1 hour of continuous use, but in vaping we have found it to be less. When people ask me how long a battery will last between charges, I tell them that a lot depends on how much one vapes and how many amps they are pulling, but as a ballpark figure I knock off a couple of hours of mAh. If she is vaping a lot, 4 hours doesn't seems unrealistic to me.

I totally agree with The Ocelot. If i were to attempt to vape on a 18350 I would get about a half hour tops LOL I love the way they make your Mech mods look but as for convenience they are not top on anyone's list. I'm not knocking anyone who uses them and if you don't mind swapping them out then i don't see any issue with them. However that's the nature of the beast my friend. Small battery = small battery life VAPE ON!:toast:

Thanks for the replies! We appreciate it!

She's using the 1.8 ohm BVC's. Our concern is they used to last over 8 hours.

On a side note, check this out: I use a ProVari w/18650 2000 mAh and full size Nautilus.

Using a BVC, 1.8 ohm, I vaped 1/2 tank before light started flashing. Using a BDC, 1.8 ohm, I vaped a whole tank down to less than a ML before light started flashing

Seeing as to the BVC is single coil and the BDC is dual coil, I thought the opposite would be true.

{Shrug} Yeah, well, vape happens. I've learned not to question what goes on in the the magic little things we screw onto the battery. At least you have a rough idea of how long it will last and plan accordingly.

Have you cleaned your girlfriend's ProVari?

Try going through and giving it a good clean up with 99% anhydrous IP alcohol, especially the threads, spring, 510 post, and chip contact.

ProVape recommends Noalox, to lubricate the threads and such, but I've been using Deoxit lately, and much prefer it. Noalox is hella gritty.

Here's the sticky:

I bet you see an improvement in battery life.

The State of Confusion
Just an FYI

Noalox is a conductive lubricant than inhibits oxidization.

I use it on the threads of my Provari' after cleaning with 99% IP alcohol.

Deoxit is more of a cleaner (from what I have read).

I know the Noalox is available at Lowes, not sure where to get Deoxit locally (Lowes does not list it).

God bless you for trying to help!

Both machines, along with the batteries and charger, get PMC'd every Wednesday (99% alcohol and a dab of Noalox) and the first Wednesday of the month, the threads get cleaned and a fresh dab of Noalox applied. In fact, the day before starting this thread, they got the treatment.

Jackie works 12 hours so we are waiting for a day off to properly assess new spring.

Much gratitude, thanks again.
