now i don't mean like .1-.3 sub ohm, but sub ohm in general. i just got me a mech mod and it is modular, so i'm really diggin on the idea of poppin out the extension and rockin it in 18350 mode with some kind of rta. is there any 18350 battery that can handle like 10+ amps? i'd like to go to around .5-.7 without feeling like i'm pushing it.

Yep, just play around with steam engine. At 0.7ohms it is possible to get a warm or cool vape. There is a @[xx]W xx MW/mm^2 section in the how to wrap your coil box. Adjust the watts from 10 to 25.2 and look for the MW/mm^2 to change, there will be a colored icon as well blues are cool reds are hot greens are in between.

Don't like what your seeing, just change the kanthal size. You'll figure it out.

that's nice and all, but i am not sure if you understood my question. i was just asking about an 18350 battery that can handle higher amps, not how to get a good vape at .7

thx tho.

Oh, no problem man, I'm happy to sit down and help a fellow vaper out any time. Thanks for the heads up, I'll remain on topic from now on.

The AW IMR is the best battery I know of that matches your desire to run sub ohms. It can go as low as 0.7 ohms while remaining at its continuous discharge amp limit.

Have a wonderful evening.

Purple efest 18350 have the highest amp rating I've seen at 10.5 amps, I wanted to do a little sub ohming on my hammer mod so I picked up a pair after doing a bit of research on them ( I've learned not to take efest's word for there specs) but they appear solid and I've ran .5 ohm coils on them with out them heating up or anything, although at that low of ohm don't expect to get much life out of a charge :)

Efest IMR18350V1 700 mAh High Discharge Flat Top

Specifications:
Typical Capacity: 700 mAh
Nominal Voltage: 3.7V
Discharge End Voltage: 2.5V
Max Charging Current: 1.5A
Charging Voltage: 4.20+-0.05V
Max Pulse Discharging Current: 10.5A
Internal Resistance: N/A
Dimensions:
34.73mm (L) x 18.10 mm (D)
Weight: 28g

It's apparently the pulse rating. I was just ranting about pulse on another thread lol so I'll just suffice it to say I don't trust pulse ratings. Have you gone lower than 0.5? It's possible they can handle close to 10.5 amps I suppose.

As typical of Efest, they advertise the "pulse" rating instead of the more accepted "continuous" discharge rating. Therefore, its could be deceiving if trying to compare models from one brand to another.

I've never used the purple Efests myself, I've always just used the AW IMR 18350's. I did give the regular red Efest 18350's a trial about a year ago and after a months use they stopped holding a charge.

Are the red Efests rewrapped AW's? They're both 700mAh right? With the small amount of "high" amp IMR 18350 batteries out there, it seems likely to me.

I'm guessing no (but I could, be wrong), because AW doesn't make flat-tops at all.....Some of my Efest Purple 18350's are flat-top.....

Sony VTC's are definitely king. Agreed. I've been doing some research and I think the purple Efest 18350's are MXJO batteries. I think I'm gonna grab one of them and an AW and see where that takes me. I'm about to order a Fogger V4.1 and I'm gonna rock that with a 1.1-ish coil on my 18350 set up and see how she works.

I don't agree with point 2 but I'll take your word on point 1. Point 2 is basically saying you think LG HE2's and Sony's suck.
I don't believe anyone outside of Efest knows who makes their batteries. We know from people like Dampfukkus that Efest re-wraps certain cells from LG, Sony and Panasonic. The others, such as the red Efests, and the purple 18350 and 18500 batteries we don't know if Efest makes them or if they are rebranded cells from elsewhere.

If often wondered if Efest buys the rejects from AW.

Efest lies to customers. One Efest rep told a customer via email that the parent Efest company makes ALL Efest batteries. We know for a fact that's not true. I don't consider rebranding another company's battery as "making" the battery.
