I have the Istick 50 with a Nautilus tank. 1.7 ohm coil. What would be the highest watt useage recommend for this set up? I read the user manual for the tank and didn't see a max safe watt. I don't want a melt down. I did however notice that once I get above 18 or 19 watts the flavor of the juice starts to diminish. is this something that could be rectified with a different type of coil in the tank that would allow for higher wattage and give a better taste. Or a different mix of juice?

I wouldn't go above 20W with the Nautilus. The problem is the wicking. Juice can only wick so fast with the coil heads that come with the Nautilus. You don't want dry hits. Are you using the BVC heads?

Really though, it's all preference. If you find that 18 or 19 Watts creates a vape that you don't like, then stay at 17W and below.

If you want to vape at higher than 20W, a different tank might be your future. Possibly an Atlantis. There are tanks with coil heads that are meant to be pushed well past 20W.
