When you are at 15 watts its probably more like 25 watts. I don't think the istick can put out power below battery voltage

We know the IPV D2 lacks a buck circuit in Power Mode (the Kanthal workaround is to use TC for low watts/joules) but I hadn't heard that about the i30. Are you relatively certain?

I honestly don't have anything high enough in K right now to check (it has a 0.4 minimum).

ETA: Found a nice 1.1 build sitting in a Mad Hatter. The i30 does indeed appear to buck down to 3.2 volts/5 watts with this set-up. Anemic as hell of course, wrong kind of build. :D

I have an istick 30w with kangertech tank.

It has a 0.5 ohm coil. Now what would be a safe wattage? Can I have it as low as 10watt? I'm finding even 15 watt too hot when vaping.... still getting plenty of vapour though. So question is, Is there danger in having too low a wattage or too high a wattage?

where did the 0.5 ohm coil come from? did you wrap it or is that a replaceable coil head;
i'd expect replaceable 0.5 ohm coils to work in the 20 to 40 watt region.

rule of thumb: coils are usually made to work with 4 volts.

I can see on the coil it has 0.5 ohm written on it. It also came with a 1.2 ohm coil as well. So its replaceable. Maybe I'm getting this wrong. The tip mouthpiece heats up alot as well after a few consecutive draws. Is that normal? Maybe that's why I'm thinking it's still to hot at 15 watt because I felt the tip being quite hot.

Is 15 watt too low for this coil?

Yeah 15 watts is a super cool vape to me, but each person is different. I prefer a very warm vape with my desserts and a cooler vape with my fruits. Metal drip tips do get hot after consecutive hits, invest in a plastic tip or glass or jade, might help. No more than $5-$6 at a b&m or $1 on fasttech if you can wait on shipping.
