Assumptions are not always correct.

My pastime

3.7v's hanging
7.4v's hanging
11.1v on Table
14.8v under table(1/4 scale) separate power for Motor and Control surfaces.

Life has its little pleasures.............. :)

Yes, I made an off the top of my head statement on Total mAh differences in
batteries which was not clarified as to application.
The statement was not of Safety Concern, nor was it to draw fire or attitude from anyone.

I'll gladly apologize to the Op for responding without consideration to application, but not to someone using insulting assumptions about ones knowledge.

By the way, P.M. works just fine;)

My RX200 is due in today and I got 6 new VTC4's to power it. I'm curious to see if I get any extra run time out of the 3rd battery. Being a mech user from way back when before regulated mods were affordable (like a year ago, Lol!), I tend to err on the side of caution. I know the chips in regulated mods are supposed to keep us safe when pushing more amps than we could safely run in a mech, but I just don't trust them with my personal safety. If I'm running over about 80ish watts in a series device, I use a 30A battery. VTC4's are my choice there. At lower wattage, I like the HG2's. They last a good while longer on a charge. I just wouldn't trust a 20A battery (or even 3 of them in series) to put out 30+ amps. Period.

VTC4 isn't a reliable 30 amp battery.

The only true 30A battery on that list is the HB6, and at 1500 mAh it's run time is pitiful. If you type to Mooch, he will tell you the VTC4 can handle 30A. It gets warm, but not dangerously hot unless you fire it constantly for an extended period. Most of us here trust the VTC4 in mechs down to about .20 ohms. It's a great battery to get you over the 20A hump as long as you don't abuse it. Even the title of the blog post says you can use it up to 30A. It's a better choice than any 20A battery at high wattage.

This is what he says about the vtc4
"This is a 20A cell that can be forced to run at up to 30A if you're willing to accept a shorter cycle life and reduced margin for safety"
Shorter battery life is fine with me, they are cheap enough but if running it near 30 amps and it auto fires your in a dangerous situation. If your aware its auto firing then all you have to do is take them out but if your unaware your screwed.
