Best battery charger out there?

Hi,

I just bought a new Provari and two batteries. They're red: IMR 18490, 1100mAh. I'm looking for the best and safest charger out there. I'm also looking for one that has bays for bigger size batteries as well. I've got the extension cap and can use bigger batteries, if needed.

Can I buy one locally at Best Buy, Radio Shack or should I order online?

Here is a list of some popular ones. I think the very best and safest would run into the hundreds of dollars. These are affordable and are designed for our type of batteries.

I have a Pila and the Nitecore Intellicharger x4. I bought the x4 because I've been attempting to find the time to build myself a few mods, and needed an easier way to charge oddly shaped batteries, which it's pretty good at. The Pila is my favorite though. It's got a cover on it that makes me feel a little safer if one of the batteries were to go into thermal runaway... I'm not saying that it would stop it, but it probably would slow it down a bit.

Also, the Pila charger isn't spring loaded. I don't care for the spring loaded negative post very much. I've had a couple batteries that the spring tore some of the plastic casing off. The largest battery that the Pila can fit is an 18650, and it has an adapter for 14500/18490 size.

After the 2nd Pila died went with XTAR VP1 and love 'em. The SOC meter and variable charge rate make it worth the price of admission.

I have and like my Nitecore I2 charger (I only use small, 18350 and 19490) batteries, so it's perfect for my needs. I always check my batteries after I charge them and they never go above 4.2v.

You can find good prices for Nitecore on Amazon. I haven't seen them in stores.
