Here in Portland we have Food Cart pods (world famous BTW). I think someone should open a vaping lounge in one. Imagine the business you could do from 9 PM to 3 AM on Friday and Saturday nights downtown on warm summer nights.

Keep a bunch of rentable pvs on hand with some juice in a variety of flavors. Have some disposables for sale...

It would be like setting up a ice cream and potato chip store outside a Grateful Dead concert...

I would definitely try that out if we had that in Chicago.

...but time to play Debbie Downer. Brick and Mortar stores have all the expenses of online stores, plus a tremendous amount of additional rent and overhead leading to lower profit margins and higher in store prices. But on the positive, they can serve impulse shoppers and people needing an emergency purchase. (Oh crap, I'm out of juice). They also get a certain amount of local traffic from convenience.

While the cart concept would have lower overhead than a brick and mortar, I don't see them getting much if anything of the benefits, aside from the impulse shopper.

The concept is great for vapers, but not for the business. There is a reason you don't often see the lounge concept extend beyond bars, coffee shops, and poker rooms. Not enough profit margin from folks just sitting around.

You know who the biggest idiots are in the business world right now? Smoke shops/head shops. They already have a giant clientele pre-disposed to buying vaping supplies. But wander into your local smoke shop and at best they have a minor e-cig/pv product line with very unknowledgable salespeople. Why this bunch of business owners hasn't figured out the vape market yet is beyond me.

Even if you have some vapers in an area who primarily buy online, you could still sell those people juices and accessories just by the fact of having them on hand and the customer doesn't have to wait 2-3 days. You are already selling tobacco pipes, bongs, etc. Built in customer base in my opinion.

I am sure it isn't the intent, but this can take on the tone of a feedback type thread...

We consider asking members for feedback on a potential ecig business a form of pre- advertising and an unfair advantage over actual registered ECF Suppliers

We do not permit any discussion of business on ECF unless registered as a Supplier.
