Yikes! I just got a 5 volt mod, and the 1.25 ohm dual coil cartos I have taste burnt! It is way too hot for them. I also tried 1.7 single coil cartomizers, and they were pretty burnt tasting too.

Those cartos work great on my 3.7 ohm Kgo!

What carto should I use? 3.0 Boges? 2.0 ??? SR instead of LR?

The guy who makes the mods said that the 1.25 ohm dual coils would be great. I don't think so!
Any recommendations on what cartos to use for this 5 V kick ... mod?
Thanks!

Actually, I've been using the 1.25 dual coil cartos on the 3.7 volt Kgo. The 1.7 Smoketech Single Coil cartos I have seem pretty airy to me!

I just saw that HotVapes in Chicago where I am has something called a Fuze Cartomizer. Not sure what it is, but it is regular resistance, ~ 3.0 ohms. Hopefully I can pick them up. 510 Single-coil Cartomizer

In the mean time, I'll order some Boges. I hope they come in XL, I hate the short ones.

Thanks you guys!!

aaaah your a high wattage gal. I didn't know a kgo could handle a 1.25, but if that's your sweet spot you may want to grab something in the 2.5ohm range as well to run on that box mod, that will get you closer to your range. Get both and see which one makes you smile. Happy Vaping !

Here's a general rule of thumb. The higher the ohm, the higher the voltage that it should be used with. For example, a 2.5 ohm carto can be used with 5V. LR is meant for 3.7V which is why it tastes burnt at 5V. It also depends on the juice your using as well. Tobacco flavors flourish with LR or HR vaping while some fruit and desert flavors don't. Unless they are really strong flavored. Hope that helps.

It can't since it only has a 2 amp switch. Using ohm's law. A 1.25 ohm carto at 3.7V = 2.96 amps of power that is drawn. Which is WAY to much for the switch to handle and will leave it stressed. There's a lot of bad information out there that tells people that using a proprietary battery such as an ego with anything lower then a 1.7 ohm atty/carto is ok.

The Smoketech 1.5ohm dual coils are a little better. The funny thing is I have one 1.5ohm dual coil with 6 mg. nicotine Dekang RY4, and it tastes fine. As soon as I put on the 1.25 ohm dual coil with 12 mg. Dekang RY4 on it, it tastes like burned paper!

Tim from Hot Vapes came to the rescue. He sells 3.0 ohm single coil cartos, and is letting me pick some up tomorrow.

...Sandy, on my vv box mod running at 5v, I like the 3ohm Boges(not found any in XL sizes...yet) and the 1.5-2ohm dual coils from Smoktech...fantastic performance with both...I really like my tobacco flavs like RY4 and Black & Mild in the DCCs(makes them VERY rich and flavorful) and the sweeter/fruit juices with the Boges..........

The reason why most ppl wants a 5v PV, is bcoz @ that point of time, many ppl wants to utilize the full potential of the SR 2.5ohm single coil atomizers. However, @ this (currently) time, there are so many choices of atomizers(rebuildable or not) and cartomizers. What I usually do is try to NOT go beyond 10 watts. That is to say: 5v with 2.5ohm. If you have anything that's 2.5ohm, that's enough already!!

P.S: I have a Big Daddy Meter Mod, so I usually try to hit 10 watts for my Tabacco flavas and about 7 watts for my fruit and beverage flavas!! I can use CE2s @ Max 4.8v and LR dual coil @ Max 3.98v. Hope this helps!! For more details, check out my ciggie... Er... I mean Siggie!!

Jack, how many puffs between fill ups on the 3 ohm Boges? I'm thinking these Fuze 3 ohm cartos may be not that hot.

Sandy

Sandy, that is way more technical a question than I care to figure out...I will tell you, I top up the carto with around 15drops(orso) ever hour(orso)...this is about the 50% used mark for me as my juice bottles measure out around 30drops/ml and vape around 5(orso) ml/day..........

p.s. a lot of orso's in that answer...orso is a technical term for kinda/sorta/maybe/etc.........mj
