 Boys and their toys...boys and their toys.
Why do you guys bring out the heavy artillery to put a small hole in an itty bitty defensless carto, when a simple little thing like what Iffy showed you will work fine?

Boge BTW
Which one? Iffy has 3 toys. I have to admit I'm a little jealous of that fact. :p

*idea*...........now to go dust off the chop saw.

I would avoid the Boges, way too many reported problems these days.

I'm using the smok 2Ω singles these days.

My puncher, with custom stop. No turn counting or listening for a pop.

Looks just like Fono's Phidias. :)

#3. I tried #1, but I couldn't see where I was supposed to punch the carto after I put it in there, and I couldn't tell when I had popped through. #3 works very well for me, and I don't have to pull out all that 'stuff' (dremel, dremel tool, plug it in, unplug it..go get it! lol! pull out this honkin big piece of wood lol!)

Has anyone of you guys tried bird shot yet?

This is what I use: http://www.valleyvapes.com/Cartomizer-Punch_p_15.html

I came up with it in Feb, it's as cheap as a saddle valve and works much better/easier imo.

I've punched over 40 cartos, 2 holes each, still on the same screw. Give it two full turns after the screw touches the carto.

(no relationship to the vendor, but they actually are carrying it at little or no markup, since I know the precise materials used)

As to what carto, personally I'm a huge IkenVape fusion fan, been using them exclusively since last August. Boge are good, but Isaac has some really super cartos.

Thanks for that link mark! I had saved it before, but for some reason it wouldn't come up. I've saved it again.

This may be alittle off topic, I don't know, but do those IKV cartos last longer than the Boge's? I have one now that dear Hoosier sent me from his own stock to try. I'm just wondering what's so different about them. I take the white cap off and it looks the same down inside. Is there a different filler in them than the Boge's?

They are made to his spec, tighter qc. Either Phil or Grimm did a review couple months back, people came away thinking IkenVape fusions were the same as the others. The reviewer did a follow up, noted there were real, visible differences.

Isaac's fusions are very tightly packed, and excellently consistent. I only run them around 20 ml, about the same as a Boge, but they taste great throughout, and I've had a whopping one off carto out of over 100 ("off" just means center contact was a bit high, not doa or otherwise bad)

fusions are good enough that i use a dedicated 801 top cap on my buzz pro, and 801 adapters for other pv.

I also love his io6 for atties, use them on my feeders.

hey, I resemble that comment. :)

Bird shot leaks like crazy. Too many holes.

All in good fun. I use what I have cause it's cheap and works for Me. ;)

Actually Iffy gave one of each to da VapingStock gathering as door prizes. He now only has two of the 'collar' punches left. But that should last him until his punchin' days are over...

Mark, don't know if ya noticed, but I gave ya credit in my earlier post!

Same here, 'bout 40 thus far. Must say that KeysBum luvs 'em too. He told me that just a 'touch' on the bolt/screw tip taper eliminates almost any carto body distortion.

Yes, I think my five units, with four spare bolts/screws, I 'built' were 'round $5.60 each.

ETA: There's a neat lil' punching trick for aligning your cartos for XL type tanks. Keep the condom seated on the carto filler end. Then insert the carto into the collar until the 'bottom' of the condom is aligned with the end of the two collar tabs (reversed from the photo I posted).

If ya have any questions, LMK!

Sorry, I had missed your earlier post. I was very happy to see it up for sale, since the screws were a hassle for individual users (S&H multiple dollars to get even a couple, from the places I found)

I have several feeders, great in the office or in safer situations, but i do keep going back to tube vv with a tank for more rough and tumble activities. A good tank is a leak free, long lasting, item.

I like your punching trick with the condom :) for fusions and m1a1, just let the carto collar go right against the hub, but i was eyeballing for a dct.

The valleyvapes one is the kind the carto just goes into -- the hub is sized just slightly larger than a carto, nothing to adjust, minimizes deformation when you punch the hole.

Don't forget Iffy's suggestion on using a carto condom to get the hole height above bottom correct, if it's for something other than an M1A1 tank.

I've been punching my cartos. I tried using two holes and the ones with three pre-punched holes and they both don't work for me. I'm a heavy vaper of 100% VG and my cartos dry up often. I even do the dry pulls but then i end up flooding. I'm going to try slotting with a dremel diamond wheel. This may help with less particulates.
