XL just means there's more blank space above the filler than on a regular carto. It holds the same amount of juice a regular does. XXL means there's more filler and it holds more juice than a regular.

Is that just Boge? I compared my XL Smoktech (45mm) and a regular Boge (35mm) and the Smoktech has more filler. Unfortunately, I don't have any other sizes to compare to.

I don't believe this to be true. 35mm is about 1.37 inches while a 45mm is about 1.77 inches. I used my ruler and measured it against my cartomizer. There is definitely more filling than just 35mm or 1.37 inches on my XL.

Don't worry about contacting them. You have a 3.5ml dct tank and those cartomizers are boge XXL cartomizers. It's tube length is 45mm with a total length of 50mm including threading.

I don't like shopping there. I find their prices about 20% more than other shops.

Thank you for the clear answer, very much appreciated. I like what they're doing at the store. They staff was friendly and it's a cool environment. Anytime I walk into a store I expect to pay more than online which means regular shopping can be done much cheaper, but I had to see what they were all about. Plus they have some mighty fine juices and a nice bar setup to sample them at.

there's really only 35mm and 45mm isn't there? which comes out to standard and XL. There are short stubby tanks that uses 35mm.

Yep, when talking 510 cartos used in tanks, 35mm (standard length) and 45mm (XL length) are the norm.

Smoktech also makes super stubby cartos, I don't have a ruler handy but I'd guess they are about 20-25mm long. Way too short for any tank, so not really important for this thread, but they are available if anyone wants to use tiny cartos (I love using them with the 350mAh mini eGos)

There are some odd-ball length cartos that come with some cigalikes. I have a 4081 that uses cartos which are longer than a 35mm carto, but shorter than a 45mm. They appear to be about 40mm.

But for all intents and purposes there are TWO 510 carto sizes for tanks- 35mm and 45mm. The 45mm will fit in any tank, assuming the top is open. Stuff like lavatanks use a different design for the top cap, so you need cartos that are the perfect size. With most tanks using a XL carto in a standard length tank will just look funky with extra carto sticking out the top.

XL just means there's more blank space above the filler than on a regular carto. It holds the same amount of juice a regular does. XXL means there's more filler and it holds more juice than a regular.

Nope. 45mm cartos contain additional filler compared to the 35mm ones... if I had to guess I'd say 10mm more filler ;) Again, there might be some odd ball one-off type cartos that come with cigalikes or disposables, but when talking regular cartos the longer ones have a higher capacity.

I have no idea why people are calling regular 45mm cartos "XXL" all the sudden. Seems pretty silly. In my experience "XXL" cartos generally refer to cartos that are larger in DIAMETER, not just length. For instance, Smoktech makes mega eGo dual coil cartos with the ego skirting. They also make the same carto with no skirting, so that it can be used on non-eGo devices. These are usually called "XXL" from what I've seen, due to the fact they are fatter than a normal carto, and longer.

Hopefully this "XXL" thing dies quick.... people in this thread are already getting confused.
