I'm considering a dna 30 device. I really don't like box mods. I wanted to build one but don't think I have the skill to do a tube build our the tools for a tube build. (I could do a box, but don't care for them)

So I've seen the cyborg and the futura dna tubes, of those 2 I like the overall look of the futura because I don't like the "landing pad" of the cyborg, but I do like the brushed stainless of the cyborg.

Are there any other dna tube mods out there? Maybe with better pricing or coupons out promo discounts etc....?

All the pictures I saw showed a polished or brushed finished. I assumed it was stainless, but okay aluminum.

I was just pointing it out because the aluminum is prone to scratches... It's one of the reasons I didn't purchase one. SS would have been a much better choice to use IMO.. It would have been better for the tube threads too..

Yeah, I want a DNA 30 tube as well, particularly in 26650. That is my ideal setup at the moment.....long lasting, big power. Can't wait!

You could get a ZNA30. They've been selling out very fast online, but Zen has been saying they're shipping units out daily, and there are plenty more coming, so once the people who gotta get them right away have them, the stock should balance out and it should be easy to get one.

Was looking into these as well, but a 16490 hitting 15-20 watts is going to last a heavy vaper 2 hours. I'm up for either a 20 or 30, but the price and battery have to be on point.

The protovapor xpv isnt a tube, its a square stick kind of. User replaceable battery 18xxx, usb charging, looks ok and much better looking than the boxes commonly associated with dna devices. I think its only dna20 right now, and its like $185 (at time of posting).

I'm guessing once the chinese manufactures start shipping mods with 30w capabilities, and a decent screen like these: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Yihiecigar/223436427839147
which was originally posted here: http://.........blogspot.com/2014/01/the-magic-30-watts-china-has-it-and-its.html

The makers using the dna30 will have to lower prices to compete. The prices of some of this stuff is so outrageous its beyond me. Mechs that cost $200 - $300, which end up being chinese cloned for $20 to $30.... DNA devices in the $300 range are (dare I say it) more understandably priced... but still outrageous. These guys (manufactures) need to think of wal mart, costco, etc approach to business... Make $100 profit and sell 100 pieces, or make $35-$50 profit and sell thousands of units...

The kayfun/taifun tanks is a good example.... at $175 authentic, how many people buy them, when the clones come out for $30. If the authentic version would be $50 or $60, I know I would personally buy genuine over clone at that point.

Thats my rant... I'm done now ;)

While true about the genuine/clone choice, I think most of the folks selling mods don't have deep pockets. They can't afford to do a huge Production run so instead they go with small volume because that's what they can finance.

Think I'm set on the XPV by Proto. Just am going to wait for its price to drop ;)

It may be a long wait... I own this and it is a beautiful thing... I suspect that the 20W version will go away replaced by the 30W and pricing will remain level...

I assume you just made a typo, but just in case.. It use an 18490, not a 16490.

And thats only as delivered. Its Z2 threaded, which means you can put ANY tube which is Z2 threaded onto it. Meaning any of 18650 tubes in the many colors, including those from Steam Monkey as well.

Apples and oranges. Different strokes. I've owned dozens of batteries, and hundreds of toppers. Eventually, I decided to buy the high end devices, support our innovators, get top quality, enjoy the real value of the better devices, and generally enjoy my vape, at a considerably higher level than that of where I started. But, that's just me, and YMMV. I have bought clones of the Ithaka, the Taifun and the Kayfun. In every case, I wanted to know how they worked, vaped, etc. before dropping a couple of hundred bucks. I have sold my clones, bought the originals, and can tell you that in my experience, the originals are vastly superior, particularly in quality, and very often is much better vape. However, I am not anti-clone, or anti-replica at all. I just made the decision that it's more important to support our innovators, while I often enjoy their top quality gear, and best possible vape. Believe me, there are many, many members on ECF that feel exactly the same way. Since I started vaping in 2009, the gear available today, and the many options and choices are astounding compared to say, two years ago. This Golden Age seemed to really start and explode in earnest about 18 months ago. Before that, everything was crap for the most part. We've come a long way in a very short period of time. Everyone has a little different journey, story, history, preference, etc., so there is not a best way, or a single way. What ever floats your boat and works for you is the best possible gear for you, at the moment. My two cents. YMMV. Ciao!

I held a ZNA 30 this past week and it was very nice....good feel and heft...nice in the hand. It realy had the look and feel of quality.

How I came about holding it was that I was in a local vape shop and the owner of the ZNA came in just to see if they had any of the larger 18650 tubes. I asked why and what he thought of it. The answer was " I really like it, but with an 18490, and Im running a .5 ohm coil, it doesnt last long at all....partly due to the coil and partly because its always adjusting itself"

    That was his answer anyway.

I dont have much desire to go under my 1.1 ohm coils I build for my Semovar and Provari, and would never need the 30W max, but the thing looked and felt SO GOOD that I have my eye on this one.....but from what I was told by this owner, You may as well order the device for 279.00 and add the bigger tube while your at it.

    (Two Cents and all)
