Thanks JJ, the three that I know of are Blu, Bloog, and the Volt. I assume they are all comparable in terms of the actual technical specs anyways, so performance should be very similar. Guess I should just go with the cheaper of the three?

You couldn't be more WRONG. Stay way clear of Blu.

Sitting down, facing forward.
For an older person I'd suggest they just order prefilled carts. Things get difficult at an older age, especially using things like syringes. But you know your grandmother better than any of us.

Hey, I resemble that remark, LOL! Seriously, it really ain't hard, especially if I can do it. It is just as easy as a regular carto, just a different technique and you are sure exactly how much liquid is going in, unlike guessing with drops or droppers full for a carto. The vapor output and flavor difference are so great that it seems more than worthwhile to me as a smoker of 50 years, 2-3 PAD for most of that. I really appreciate the difference a clearo or CE3 versus a carto makes and it makes it so much easier to convert from tobacco. It's kind of like getting all the benefits of a modded tank rig in a mini form factor. Again, these are my opinions, worth what I charge for them, and everybody and every body is different. Your results can and will vary.

I love the Volts. I have the little 78mms with prefilleds which saved my life. They kept me from giving up on vaping after my first crappy experience. I then moved on to the X2 batteries from Smokeless Image and the clearos, because I wanted longer battery life and more liquid per fill. Now I have a rebuildable atomizer mod (Zenesis mini).... but I still reach for an X2 or even a few 78mms for out and about depending on the situation. Check the Smokeless Image forum here, and someone will have the most recent coupon codes for you as well.

well thanks everyone, the advice is much appreciated. I think the Volt is the winner!
She will probably get tired of charging batteries all the time...
And when that happens she may give up unless she is already aware there are solutions.

So just make sure to tell her about the PCC and the X2 batteries.
Either of those options might prove to be needed in short order.

good call. It's tough for a new vaper, because they all 'think' they want a cigarette look-a-like until they see the shortcomings. I still think it's the best place to start, as it's the gateway into the vaping universe. She is home most of the time, so I don't think the battery discharge time will be too much of an issue. I just want her to get started, and hopefully get a call a few weeks later complaining about this or that so that I can talk her into upgrading! They do have a premium kit which comes with a PCC so I'll look into that also. Again, thank you for the assistance!
