For my non Triton tanks set up, I use:

Iclear30 -- fantastic vapor, tighter draw and great flavor
Kanger Protank -- plumes of vapor, airy draw, great flavor
iclear16 -- fantastic vapor, really tight draw, decent flavor -- caveats: gurgles due to condensation buildup, sometimes leaks from base

I hope to grab some Evods and the new Kanger T3s', just for options.

I know it is all very subjective. But I have an ego twist in the mail that should be here tmrw and it comes with 2 ce4 stardust clearomizers. From what I've read and all the videos I've seen, I've heard alot of not so great things about them. So preparing myself to order some new ones, I wanted to ask which is the best. By best I mean most flavor and vapor production, and least amount of maintenance. I ordered a iclear 30 dual coil and an iclear 16 dual coil when i ordered my kit (they will be here on saturday), not knowing the twist wasnt really good for dual coil (especially with 2 ohm heads). So I think thats really just gonna be a waste of my 18 dollars. But what do you guys recommend i get for my next purchase so i can get the things I'm looking for?

I don't know what you read about the CE4 but it's probably not going to be as bad as you seem to think. Sure, you can do better but you're not going to want to throw them out.

I have iClear 16s here on my spinners and they are working just great. Again, a perfectly fine purchase and you did not waste your money.

Since other options have already been covered, I'll just mention the Evod. Works extremely well, good vapour, good flavour, looks good on an ego, won't break the bank.

I have 2 Protanks, 3 Vivi Nova minis, one T3 and 4 Vision V3s (CE5). My "go to" is and has been the Vision V3's. They have been the most reliable, and consistently maintenance free of anything in my repertoire. Never had one leak yet. My Protanks (glass) give a good vape (albeit very airy)until they are down below half full. They then begin to gurgle and leak all over my batteries. The best thing I could say about the Vivi Nova Minis is that they have never leaked.. ever. However, they are very finicky about the juice they will vape well and take a lot of fiddling around. They are way over hyped IMHO.

You should at least try one Vision V3 with a couple of xtra replacement heads to see what you think. They are now available in dual coil. I have not tried those yet. Good luck whatever you choose.

Protank seems to be a love it or hate it thing for people. Some of us find the right combo of Voltage, juice, head resistance and draw and the protank rocks. Others struggle with it.

Oh I know...Im glad I dont like it, I can buy 7 Vivi novas for what one protank costs :/ I thought I had a bad one, but I had it replaced by the company and it still does the same things, still leaks, it just leaks only from the core and not the tank, still tastes nasty, still cant get good vapor, still doesnt wick, still has a cold and uncomfortable mouthpiece, draw is still impossible to get a decent pull from unless you Macgyver it which i refuse to tape up or plug up something to make it work like it should have already have been designed to work. It just collects dust.

Yep glass and metal tanks can take any juice. There is ONE kind of plastic that can too but at the moment I just can't think of the name of it.

Polypropylene - more durable and resilient to cracks.

Polycarbonate is the other type.

Here is one description that talks about it:

The draw and hot/cold vape thing seems to be the common breaking point. I like the cooler vape and airy draw. But then again I was the same when I smoked. I couldn't stand that last bit of a cig when it gets really hot.

In a way your post is a great example of what I like to tell people. Take everyones recommendations with a grain of salt. What one person likes or doesn't might in the end be completely different from your own preferences. The best thing a new vapor can do is just buy one of several different things and see if they like it.

What IS wonderful is that there are many choices so most people can find the right thing for them.

Not a very popular opinion, but I'm a big fan of the vapeonly BCC mega it has just worked for me with no fiddling. I've tried the above mentioned tanks and enjoy the Vivi as well. For the twists give the stardusts a try before you judge them, they most likely will eventually leak and you will move on, but then again maybe they'll work great for you. Another good one for a twist is the Kanger T2, I still use and enjoy mine from time to time and they're a good fit on spinners/twists.

I have really been enjoying my vapeonly/ismoka bcc mini tank! I use those or kanger mt3's. personally, you should try some different brands and see what you like. Especially before investing in a pro tank. Each brand/style has its own uniqueness and has its fans because of it. The pro tank is the Cadillac of clearomizers. You may want to try out a kanger t3 or mt3 before investing in a pro tank. Another thing is pay attention to the juice capacity. I like clearonizers that don't hold as much, so I can swap out juices. Others like to set it up and leave it. Buy a few under $10 and see what you like.

to me the draw isnt a matter of taste. I guess it is if there are people who think its a plus, for me its a failure of engineering. Its like trying to hit a cigarette by sucking the smoke coming from a cigarette .... through a straw. Thats exactly what vaping with it is like for me...I dont want to struggle with my equipment, i want to fill it and vape and enjoy it, theres no reason to make faulty equipment work when theres already tanks that I like to vape with and I dont have to screw around with to make them more acceptable. Especially when they cost 5 times as much, no thx matter of fact you can have mine if you want it

I think you misunderstand me. By matter of taste I meant matter of preference. You don't like it and that is fine. You are absolutely right that if you do not like it you shouldn't bother messing with it.

I on the other hand LIKE that same airy draw. SO my taste/preference is different from yours. THAT is all I was commenting on.

Tucson, it's a dry heat
<----- EVOD lover here. I have about 8 of them that I interchange all day. They're small, but that's good for ADD vapers. The protank did nothing for me. FTR, my EVODs have never leaked or cracked (on a lot of different juices.) The only issue I ever had was with coils getting gunk easily, but I attribute that to the juice.

I understood you man lol

I meant I dont see it as a matter of taste because I cant understand why anybody would want to inhale a mouthful of air instead of a mouthful of vapor but to each his own...they have a big following, more people seem to like them than dont. I gotta hit that thing way too many times to get minimal vapor out of it and its cold and unsatisfying...thats like saying going out to dinner and having your meal burnt or not being a matter of taste, its too troublesome for the old boy

Have the iClear30, Protank, ViviNova and just got an EVOD. They are all good in their own right as noted with slightly different tendencies, but out of the box I think I want to say I like the EVOD the best so far. I will mess with EVOD heads on the Protank, since I do like the slightly tighter draw and the flavor seems to be a bit better.

So since i posted this before i got my kit, I've now had my kit for a day and tried out the clearos. So what i heard about the ce4's is right. I'm getting constant burnt tastes after it drops from 1.6 ml to 1.2, even if i do the tilt and swirl or tilt and twirl all the time. I've tried lowering the voltage all the way down to 3.4 and still happens, but get almost no vapor or TH. The iclear 30 on the other hand, which i thought was gonna be awful after i found out the dual coils on the twist dont work too well, is amazing. keeping it at 4 volts I'm getting great flavor, great TH, and great vapor. Def going to order a few more and some replacement heads. Only thing I wish I got was a cone to hide the threading and make it look more like a one piece unit. I have a Evod coming in the mail so will be trying that, but for now I am blown away by the iClear 30

Glad your dual coils are working for you. You can't believe everything you read.

I don't know why you should be having such problems with your CE4s. Again, they are not the best that money can buy but many thousands of them are used every day without these issues (mine included). No flavour or TH would most likely be caused by flooding (my opinion only) and not under-wicking, which will give you a noticeable, unpleasant burnt taste. Two obvious things that can cause flooding: 1) there is a silicone cap over the atomizer that needs to be properly seated or it will allow excess liquid onto the coil and 2) drawing too hard will pull too much liquid onto the coil. The pg/vg ratio of the liquid may also have an effect.
