I just posted a new blog entry for High Desert Vapes which includes their Cafe Coffee. You won't want to miss this one. Enjoy! ;)

HDVs Cafe Coffee is Flavor West flavoring. It's one of the most commonly used concentrates. You can DIY it really easily. HDV sells the concentrate and a lot of other DIY supplies.

I noticed that on their website when I ordered it. I was hoping it would be good since that way I could stock up on the flavoring in case SHTF with the FDA. Out of all the other coffees I've tried, I've certainly not had one that tasted like theirs though, so I don't know if it's all that common, or if other companies are mixing it with other stuff for their own 'brew' or what have you. I've been planning on stocking up on some DIY stuff fairly soon - I've got a yeast lab for the brewery, but I work in much larger volumes than would be practical for e-juice, so it looks like I'll have to order a whole new set of glassware. Oh gee rats :)

Backwood Brew's - Espresso

DISCLAIMER:Mind you this has not steeped(recommended steeping time is 7 days).

As it stands as a fresh, non steeped juice this is what I get.

I open it and *sniff*- very light smell, almost like popcorn...not quite the smell of popcorn- but that is what it reminds me of...

Color is medium a light orange/tan.

Liquid is fairly thin compared to ones I have that are higher in VG. So I assume this is a higher PG than VG ratio.

Dripped with - Cisco HH.357 on a Provari Voltage range tried from 3-5 (as with all juices when I try them out)

Started at 3 working my way up to 5 Throat Hit is very solid surprisingly for a 6mg juice, which is hard to find(trust me)! Love that.

Nice vapor production, nothing out of the ordinary- so average vapor.

Now the flavor: Regardless of the voltage used, the flavor changed very little...I now understand when people refer to a coffee flavor tasting similar to "burnt popcorn". It's not quite that flavor, but yes reminiscent of it. That's the major flavor in this juice. I do taste a slight nutty undertone on the exhale, possibly hazlenut or almond.

As I stated above this juice is made fresh. The born date is 12/17 and it is now 12/20. There is a recommended steep time of 7 days as their juice is very fresh. If the taste differs in a week or two, I will update accordingly...I hear many great things about this juice and everyone says "let it steep"...so I will do that and pray an unknowing coffee flavor profile jumps out as it steeps in front of the "almost burnt popcorn-esque" flavor.

As we all know taste is "subjective", but this is exactly the flavors I taste, in the order I tasted them, at different voltages. We also know that many coffee flavored juices get a "burnt popcorn", so this is not saying I don't like Backwoods Brew, I just don't like their coffee juice fresh, hopefully steeping will help change this juice and my opinion.

If the taste does not change in a week or two- someone who wanted to try this juice can have this 15ml bottle. I'm a verified member and more than willing to pay it forward. At this point there is only aprox. 7 drops missing.

So I ordered from eliquidsamples, and guess what I just realized??? I didn't order any coffees....! I think I have ADD when it comes to liquid purchases.

Oh no! No coffee

can't say I don't blame you...as coffee tends to be the most disappointing flavor. :p

Today I tried some Goodejuice Coffee and Cream. I must have won it in a contest. It's more creamy than coffee-y and a little on the sweet side with kind of a pastry taste. Doesn't have a distinct coffee flavor, though it not bad. I'll probably use up the bottle but won't be ordering more of it as there are other coffee-like juices that I like better.
